The East Providence Recreation Department conducted the annual Turkey Trot Charity Road Race on Saturday, November 17th, 2001. There were 80 runners in the 4.3-mile fun run. Special thanks to event contributor, Elizabeth A. Elmasian, Attorney at Law, race officials Edward Cronan, and Bill Caine, the East Providence Police Department, and Recreation Department Staff for their assistance and dedication.

The winner of the Edward Cronan Sr. memorial trophy is Terry Wnek. This award is given to the first East Providence resident to finish the race.
