List Makes It a Twofer in Coffee-O Five; Clay Tops Women's Field
by Ken Gartner
It was another hot and humid night for a run, just as it was last Friday night. Another 50 runners showed up, just as there were last Friday night as well, although they weren't all the same runners.
Jeff List made it two Coffee-O-Five wins in a row, as he cruised home with a time of 30:13, just 10 seconds ahead of Jo Harvey of Marlboro. It was Mr. Harvey's first Coffee-O-Five appearance. Michele Bianchini finished off his summer with his best finish of the year at the Coffee-O-Five. His time of 31:23 was good enough for third place. Mr. Bianchini will return to his home in Venice, Italy for the fall. Jeff Fumarola, found himself with a rare Friday night off and used it
wisely. He joined the Coffee-O-Five runners for the first time in several months, and he finished in a tie for fourth place.
The first two women finishers this week came from over the bridge. Lynne Clay, of Sagamore, took first in just under 35 minutes. Rebecca Clemente, of Hadley, finished second, just 2 minutes later. It was Ms. Clementes first appearance at the Coffe-O-Five. Mary Olenick and Karen
Smith-Rohrberg ran together in third place. Judi Keller turned in one of her better efforts with a fifth place finish. She finished hot on the heels of her husband Fred, who is coming out of his summer running retirement.
The Coffee-O-Five is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is no entry fee for this self-timed event and all runners are invited to participate.
