Return of Old Regulars Swell Coffee-O Numbers
by Ken Gartner
The Coffee-O Five turnout was back to normal after last weeks dismal turnout. This week 37 runners took part to usher in the fall season. This was a very good turnout considering many of the Friday night regulars were home resting up for the next days First Annual Falmouth Track Club Open Golf Tournament. Somehow Paul Hartel, the tournament director, managed to spare 40 minutes to squeeze in the Friday night run into his hectic weekend.
Many of the Friday night regulars are starting to return after extended absences from the event. This week Bill O'Mara showed up for the first time since January. Terry Souza made it 3 weeks in a row this week, which may be a PR for him. Even the Plant brothers showed up this week. Steve Faluotico and Stace Beaulieu ran sporting new wedding rings on their left hands. The two got married last week in Colorado, but managed to dash home in time for the 5:30 start.
Justin Neviackas took second this week, with a time of 29:23, one of his better Friday night runs. Bill O'Mara trotted him in third place, with a time of just under 30 minutes. Pauline Lim was the first woman finisher this week, as she finished in 36:32. Nancy Correia took second, just a minute ahead of Stace Beaulieu.
The Coffee-O-Five is held every week at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is no entry fee, and all runners are welcome to participate in this event.
