We had a wonderful melting pot of runners this evening, a melting pot full of all races and nationalities...a main ingredient in what has made our great country what it is today....a nation of all people!!

Siskel & Ebert would give tonights race 4-stars...world class runners, competition, running club camraderie & the "hippest" post race cheer!!!

Former World Marathon Record Holder Belayneh Densimo, who has been visiting with us all summer on the Charles River finally laced the sneakers up and tackled a Somerville Striders AC weekly race in it's hometown..Somerville, MA..

SSAC homey, Matt Corcoran was given the job of keeping it an honest race for Belayneh since he had no idea of the course and you don't want the Former World Marathon Record Holder getting lost...not good for the race director:>).....anyway Matt Corcoran got a PR for the course and Mr. Densimo got a pleasant tour of Somerville and quick run in!!

And when you want to talk about American Steel then you have to include Paul Donahue of the Melrose Running Club in that conversation..he won last weeks race...knew that Mr. Densimo and other fast twitch muscle runners would be in the house..yet he said "I'll be back to defend my title"...American Steel only gets stronger in a time of adversity!!! and Mr. Donahue PR'd toooooooooo!!!
