Fratini and
Hutchinson in the Rain
Perfect night for racing. Cool temperatures and plenty of
rain. What more could one ask for. The Park was virtual
empty, most sane folks spending this night indoors. However 20
!!!!!!!! (pick your own adjective!) turned up to race in these
sodden conditions.
Paul Fratini led from the
go and cruised the many puddles and water hazards to take
victory. Followed home equally comfortably by masters victor
John Bigos. Tim Brown rounded out the top
three.
On the womens side it was a
different affair as Laura Hutchinson and Sara Praglusk traded step
for step along the whole course. This outcome was not decided
until the sprint for the finish, were it not for the keen eyes of
race director Len and spotter Brian, this may have needed a photo to
determine the outcome. The spoils went to Laura, Sara settling
for 2nd and Deb Berovici rounding out the top three. The
latter holding off masters runner Betsy Duquette for that
honor.
