Faluotico and Tholke Best in Coffee-O Five
by Ken Gartner
The oppressive humidity finally left town and it was actually a nice night for run for a change at this weeks Coffee-O-Five. Forty-one runners enjoyed the fall like night.
Dave Farrell took the early lead as usual, and managed to hold off the main lead pack for about a mile or so. The talk among the lead pack this week had nothing to do with split times, weekly mileage, or race times. Instead wedding plans were the topic of the night, as Luc Claessens will be tying the knot in two weeks, and Steve Faluotico in three weeks. The two ran together with Michele Bianchini for most of the race, until Faluotico found a sudden burst of energy on Walker Street to snag the win. Claessens took third with Bianchini fourth, and Dave Farrell hanging on for fifth place.
Kris Tholke led the women this week, as she edged Chris Scott by one minute. Stace Beaulieu followed in third place. Finishing together in a tie for fourth place were the running nurses of the Coffee-O-Five -- Dana DeLorme and her friend Linda McDonald.
The Coffee-O-Five is held every Friday night at 5:30 from Town Hall Square in Falmouth. There is no charge for this self-timed event and all runners are welcome to participate.
