Dangerous Ken Proves it Again
Ken Merrick said he was taking it easy this
week, recovering from a hard 21 miler earlier in the week and starting his taper
for the Hartford Marathon in two weeks.
So, when Marty Ogden
and JT Schemm built up a hundred yard lead in the first mile of the 3.55 mile
contest, one naturally assumed that it would be a race between Marty and
JT. They thought so, too, so they were merrily battling it out, with their
comfortable lead.
At about the two mile mark, though, Dangerous
Ken Merrick thought they looked too comfortable, so he caught them, first JT,
then Marty, and marched off towards the horizon to win by half a
minute.
Marty and JT kept up their own private battle
for second place, and Marty won by six seconds.
Pam Quist won again for the women, taking
ninth place over all and beating Laurie Carmellini by a little over five
minutes.
Sorry the results were late this week.
We had server problems that couldn't be resolved before Web Guy had to leave for
four days in Ohio.
Happy Birthday Dave Harvey, who celebrates on
October 1.
