2001 Roxbury Race #26 - 4.5M

Freeman Starts a Streak,  Quist Ends One

New Milford cross country coaches have to like what they are seeing in junior Jon Freeman.  The kid runs smart.  He waits patiently, and he has a big finish the last mile.  It's worked for him two weeks in a row now.  A week ago, he used it to clobber Adam Levy and the Old Fossil, Ed Sandifer.  This week, he used it on Brandon "Moe" Mogayzel and Dangerous Ken Merrick, with the same results.  These weren't a couple of old fossils Jon was kicking around, either.  All of us know how Dangerous Ken has earned his nickname, and Moe ran a 9:17 steeplechase for Brandeis a couple of years ago, as well as a 32:05 10,000 meters and 15:01 in the 5000.  That's some serious quick. The SWC better look out for Jon this season!

Pam Quist came back this week, and even though Rapid Lynn Zuback beat her winning time from last week by ten seconds, Pam beat it by more.  Lynn's win streak ends at four.

Keyless boB Derringer continued his domination of JT Schemm.  Last week, his winning margin was only one second.  This week, they were both about ten seconds faster, but Keyless boB widened his winning margin to four seconds.

This week's photos are Pam Quist and Peg Molina.  People have noticed that the two have never been seen together, and some people actually get them mixed up!  We hope that these pictures help everybody get it straight.

The Roxbury Races are now listed on the Internet both on CoolRunning.com and on HiTekRacing.com.
