By Texas standards, it was cold with the temperature in the low 50's for the scheduled 8:00AM start. The combination of the "cold" temperature, low humidity and overcast skies made for ideal racing conditions.

The start of the race was delayed somewhat when two huge cement tankers rolled into the driveway of the Barbara Bush Elementary School and came to a stop at the starting line just as the race was about to begin. The trucks were delivering the cement to a church construction site located next to the school. After a none too pleasant exchange between the race director and the construction crew chief, the trucks were moved and the race got underway about ten minutes late.

A reminder that the RTW 5K's are run on the second and fourth Saturday of every month. The next race is scheduled for Saturday, November 25th - two days after Thanksgiving Day. Entry fee is $1.00 (that's one dollar).
