It was a classic case of Murphy's Law. For the past five months, the Houston area has experienced pronounced drought conditions. Unfortunately, heavy rains rolled into the area a few hours before the start of the first of the RTW 5K Series races. However, as the ten runners in attendance were making their collective way to the starting line, the rain stopped and patches of blue sky became visible. With the temperature in the mid-50's, the conditions for the race itself turned out to be nearly perfect.

Race number two in the series is scheduled for Saturday, January 22nd at the Barbara Pierce Bush Elementary School in The Woodlands.
