RIRR Red Rooster Ramble 5M #1

Warren, RI, July 6, 2000

Overall Results

Se nan gran chimen mwen kanpe la! - Haitian Kreyol saying.

Another year and a new race series! For our first RIRRRRR of this year, we set a new record! 21 folks came from all around to join us. Not bad! Market Street Pub's famous pizza guy was out of commission today so we all had a rough time figuring out what goes well with beer. I nominate the Philly Cheese Steak. Do I hear a second? We were amazed by pub-owner Bill's leaning tower of calamari - enough to feed the entire club. Did everyone get their share? I think there is still a little left over. Well, not much in terms of exciting and unusual happenings went on today - surprising for the Ramble. The rain stayed away which I am sure is one of the signs of the Apocalypse. If the Sox win, we'll know the end of the world is nigh. Looking through my magic mirror I see Pav, Jessica, Deb, and Dick who were our respective winning runners and walkers. Way to go! A special Ding hao! goes out to our youngest runner Bronson Venable who came in 2nd overall. And before I finish, a super special Tsui ding hao! goes to Dave & Linda Simmons who picked up the ball this year and got the race going again!!! That just about sums it up for this week's Ramble Wrapup. See you all there nextweek. Same bat-time...same bat-channel...
