Thirty-three fearless souls braved temperatures in the high teens to run the 17th annual, Dave Whitney 5 Mile Snow Stomp, held in Ridgway, Pa, on Saturday, January 22. A 10 mph west wind made the return trip on the out and back course even colder. Occasional sunshine tempered the cold somewhat. The race was sponsored by the Elk County Striders.

Doug Hoover of Tyrone, Pa, was the overall winner with a time of 28:53. Stacy Gaynor of State College, Pa, was the top female finisher with a time of 32:23. Complete results by gender and age group are listed below. Each runner's name, overall finishing place, and time are given.
