RUNNER OF THE MEET - Nick Callahan
Nick ran against some stiff (much older) competition
at Thursday's meet and hung with guys twice his age
(and size). Congrats to Callahan on some great races
- we look forward to him developing into a great
runner over the next few years.
The highlight of the evening was in the 4x200 Relay.
On the second exchange, Schowe dived head first into
teammate Greg Hipp and botched the handoff. As this
event blew the teams chances of winning, they did
manage to make some time for the remainder of the
race.
Also, Footlocker qualifier Ricky Brookshire (certainly
not in the 110 Low Hurdles) ran out of the assigned
hurdle lane in route to a disqualification in the
event. He recovered emotionally to anchor the winning
4x200 team.
Next meet is at 6pm on TUESDAY July 4th - hope to see
everyone at Watauga High School then! We've dropped
the two dollar fee so come out for your health and
race all you want!
