And the winners are .... the reuslts for the Baystate Marathon and Half Marathon are finally available. As many are aware both events were timed using the WinningTime chip system and the tradutional pull-tag system.
We took extra time to compare the results from both methods, which was our intention. Despite minors operating issues with the WinningTime system, overall we a pleased with the outcome. We hope you enjoy seeing you actual time in addition to your offical gun time. If you do not have an actual time listed, it is perhaps because you either: did not wear the chip or properly on your ankle as required, did not cross the start mats. As sevral particpants found out, there is not an indefinite starting window because the chip was in use. Once the race started and the last person in the pack crosses the starting line the system is shut down, as we can only have the road closed short time period.
Our system is the Winningtime chip timing system; not championchip. Though the basic technology is the same, there are some differences. You will be seeing this system in use more frequently. In order for us to provide
you with accurate timing you need to follow two simple instrucstions for use. The WinningTime chip 1. MUST BE WORN on the supplied band (not to be removed) 2. AROUND THE ANKLE (no where else) to function properly.
