Old Timers Dominate Friday Night Five

The Haycocks certainly had their hands full this Friday as 50 hot and very thirsty runners made welcome use of their Elm Road water stop. It was a bunch of "old timers" who led the way as 5 of the top 6 runners were over 40 years old, including Nanci Cahalane who handily won the women's race and placed 5th over-all.

Frank Samko took second in his Friday night debut with a time of just under 30 minutes. Since he had no idea where the course went, he latched on to Friday night veteran, Bob Pickart, like a magnet. Tor Clark who is rarely able to run the race due to his work schedule had a fine effort, placing 4th with a time of 30:48.

Pauline Lim took second for the women. Running together to finish tied for third were Andree Ramsey and Carissa April. Their time of 40:20 was yet another personal best for Ms. Ramsey. Cracking the top 5 for her first time was road race veteran, Betty Fuller of North Falmouth.

The Friday Night Five is held every week at 5:30 from Town Hall Square. No registration is needed. All runners are welcome to participate in this free, self-timed event.
