The Second Annual, Half Shell Raw Bar 1/2 Marathon, January 30, 2000,
7:00 AM. This up and coming race was a great success for the second time,
with more runners, more volunteers, parties, and happy runners praising
the organizers, the Half Shell Raw Bar, Key West Southernmost Runners,
and the Sailfish Striders. Key West, provided a perfect Keys running day,
with light winds nice temperatures and partial cloud coverer. More than
230 runners ran through the historic Old Town Key West with its Historic
Landmarks, and along the gorgeous Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico waterfront,
to finish this 13.1 mile race with another great party, hosted by the
Half Shell. Proceeds will benefit The Key West High School Track teams,
and Clean Florida Keys.
