The day started off very cool in Ocala this morning. It was 29 degrees at
the 7am start time. The runners knew that with the rising sun it would
warm up to the 60's. So they had to be prepared to shed clothes as the
race progressed. The collection truck looked like a refuge from Good Will.
The runners were extremely happy with the course management, the plentiful
water and supplement stations. And for those from other climes the
practice of having a food station on the marathon course.
The course is flat with some rolling hills. It goes through the beautiful
horse country around Ocala. Nothing like have throughbreds checking you
out as you run by.
The Ocala Running Club again presented an excellent event.
