Pat Dennen made his second Roxbury appearance of the year, and Pam Quist made
her first. Now, between them, they are undefeated for the
year.
Past Dennen clobbered last week's winner, Ed Sandifer, by over two minutes,
even though Sandifer was half a minute faster this week. Sandifer
apparently used the controversial "If he gets a big lead, maybe he'll get lost"
strategy, and it didn't work very well. Pat's father, Mark, finished
third. The two Dennens had gone out together, but Mark dropped off the
pace after the mile, and Sandifer caught him just after the three mile mark.
Pam Quist, still the all-time points leader for women, enjoyed a minute and a
half margin on Kimberly Thompson, though they finished only one place apart, in
7th and 8th places respectively.
Roxbury Rookie Ed Keplinger made his first-ever appearance this week because
of the InterNet. The Roxbury Races are now listed both on CoolRunning.com and on HiTekRacing.com. Ed spotted us on
CoolRunning the very first day they listed us.
