Joe Vailonis 10K

Overall Results
This race honors the memory of Joe Vailonis, a beloved member of the Hartford
Track Club who was known for his sunny spirit and the encouragement he gave
many runners. In the late 1970s, he competed in the over-60 division in many
races. Each year at this race, an award is given to the oldest man to
finish, and to the oldest woman to finish. This year's winners were George
Brown and Doris Beland.
This race was the first in a series of informal winter races organized by the
Hartford Track Club. More information on the club and the series can be
found at www.hartfordtrackclub.org. Bill Katz was the race director, and
David Reik was his technical assistant. Peter Hawley, Chris Armen and Curt
Pandiscio provided valuable assistance.
