Youth Races

All Youth' Races start and finish in Memorial Boulevard. Awards will be given to top 5 in each age category. A short sleeve T-shirt will be given to all Youth Race participants. Please refer to the registration form below.

Boys' and Girl's Races

The Harvard Pilgrim 5K race committee would like to assist any children who cannot afford to participate in the Kids' Races by waiving their entry fee. This will be done on the honor system when the entry form is submitted.

Directions & Parking

Interstate 95 North or South, Take exit 22, Downtown.
Use local parking lots, or the Convention Center Garage in downtown Providence.

Race day information

The race starts promptly at 11:15 a.m. Please be at the start by 11:00 a.m.!

Volunteers

We need lots of volunteers. Please call the race hotline at 401-331-4034 ext. 43365 if you can help during the weeks before the race or on race weekend. Free T-shirt for all volunteers.
Bands and Entertainers Wanted for the "Health Parade". Help out Hasbro and Bradley hospitals by volunteering to entertain runners and walkers. Anyone providing entertainment will be recognized in the packet provided to all race entrants.

Entry fee (All 5K entrants will receive a free Long Sleeve T-Shirt)

• 5K Run & Walk
• $15 if postmarked by 9/1/99
• $17 through 9/18/99 (do not mail after 9/8, come to in-person registration)
• $20 race day, 9/18/99
• Children who run in the 5K race pay full fee. The race committee encourages all children to participate in the Kids' Races.
• Entry fee is non-refundable
• Youth  Races
• $6 through 9/19/98 (Do not mail after 9/8)
• $7 race day, 9/19/99.

• Complete the entry form.
  Only one person per entry form.
  Photocopies of entry form accepted.
• Mail it with entry fee, check or money order - no cash - payable to: Downtown 5K, Inc.

Corporate Team Registration

• Any number of runners can be on a corporate team.
• Only the first three corporate runners time will be used to score.
• Corporate runners can only score for one division.
• All team members' entry forms must be submitted together with the team entry form.

Corporate team deadline: Must be postmarked no later than 9/5/99.

$150 to the top male and top female.
Merchandise awards for 2nd and 3rd place male and female.

MAJOR MURPHY MEMORIAL TROPHY

Awarded to the first law enforcement officer to cross the finish line in honor of Major Jeremiah Murphy's significant contribution to the initial Downtown 5K.

Courageous Awards

If you know someone for whom running or walking in the Harvard Pilgrim 5K is a great achievement, let us know. Send a letter outlining their achievement, the name and address of the nominee and your name and phone number, to:
