Most of the Led Zeppelin that is fast is pretty good good for running, and a lot of the new rock is good too.

i was running with my teammate during a race, and he was singing 'eye of the tiger'. He was really getting into the song, and he started flailing his arms, which incidently hit me in the head and knocked me down. He didnt even realize what happened, he was so into the song. I guess that means 'eye of the tiger' is a pretty good running song.

You are all forgetting about the song from the movie PRE, the Who by Baba O'reily, great song gets me pumped everytime I hear it. I tend to listen to the local talk shows on my long runs and just listen to that. But all this is other stuff, try the WHO!

i love sonata arctica... its like cheesy emo 80s power metal, ownage. my sister thinks its funny but it freakin rocks. some of my other favorite power metal bands are Primal Fear, Mystic Prophecy, Demons & Wizards (iced earth and blind guardian duo kinda thing), Lost Horizon, Rhapsody, Divinefire, Freedom Call, Hibria, Warmen (AMAZING), Stratovarius, Elvenking, Edguy, Gamma ray, Iron maiden, Odyssea, Pharoah, Seventh Avenue, Sinergy, Dragonforce, Sonata arctica and a bunch more i also like death, thrash, melodeath, and just plain old heavy metal mostly progressive (my favorite genre.. Opeth, DT, ). thrash especially... try running to some Exodus, Kreator, or Kataklysm :P what gets me really pumped is like Meshuggah and Textures (math metal polyrhythms galore, so freakin heavy without being "heavy" just pulsing). also the band Nile has some of the fastest double bass every recorded (along with bands like In Battle and Kronos I think). Hows that for running to some 240 bpm 16th notes :P [This message has been edited by wumpkin (edited Jul-17-2006).]

I love that song. I think if I do a compilation vid for the end of our season I'm gonna put that in. Good tune. ------------------ Anyone who can be summed up by a single quote is clearly a simple-minded sun-burned underbelly of a toad. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee

Try Billie Joels Beethoven's 5th...It is a kick backside running song..I put it 2X back to back on my IPOD just for the end of 5Ks.....awesome! quote: Originally posted by swedechick: Beethoven? His music helps me relax and fall asleep rather than energize me. Interesting that it doesn't have that affect on other people. i listen to classical when i am too excited and/or energize to sleep;it's very lulling.[This message has been edited by swedechick (edited 01-13-2002).]
