Dang I feel old!!

I have never heard of ANY of these songs, much less the bands!

My play lists are all about the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Steve Miller, etc.

If I want to listen to more modern music I might throw on some Boston, Paul McCartney, Bob Marley or Aerosmith. But when the Red Hot Chile Peppers come on you know I am feeling on the edge!!

It could be worse, I guess. At least I don't have Elvis, Pat Boone and Chubby Checker..........

don't forget podrunner podcasts. They are free, and for getting into a zone, they are the absolute best. Find 'em on iTUNES or at www.djsteveboy.com

Sadly, this popped into my head yesterday evening ...

I blame D'Kid; you can, too, because it's going to earworm you all day long.

Sorry.

mine right now are the podrunner series, mainy cruise control at 175bpm, and groundpounder at 180. There's Velociraptor at 181bpm, however I jump around those a lot for the little parts I like

Being a total trend whore I got the nike+ deal, so far my powersongs have been:
starchild - dune (I think)
aaand some other song that's mainly an angry fast rock song that goes 'lets set this stage' or something mid way through it. hmm... I really don't know most of the songs I listen to... just need a good beat for when I completely zone out.

Maffetone wrote an article on music, training and sports injury (or some such title). His site (www.philmaffetone.com) has music that is great (he's also a songwriter) -- I listen to it while swimming and for indoor stuff (treadmill or bike), very therapeutic.

I like to listen to full albums, even when I'm running.

New Found Glory - self-titled
Run Kid Run - This is who we are
Lady Sovereign - Public Warning
MxPx - Slowing goign the way of the Buffalo
Andrew W.K. - All his music.

So pretty much Pop-Punk is a good tempo for me.

Have you been borrowing my Ipod?

Other tunes on my playlist at the moment include

Jerk It Out - The Caesers
Two Receivers - Klaxons
Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt - We are Scientists

There's some good tunes for running on both the 2nd Killers' album, and the second Arcade Fire one (& AF are great live!).

My favourite golden oldie to run to is Nut Rocker by Bee Bumble and the Stingers - gives you a good lift when you're tired!

Dude, it's totally about Motorhead and David Lee Roth.

Also, Harry Belefonte!
"Jump in the Line"! (remember the credits for Beetlejuice)?

Spanish dance
(merengue, salsa -- try Spanish Harlem Orchestra)

And The STOOGES (Iggy Pop before he was Iggy Pop, is the long and short of it -- check out "Raw Power")

I'llhave to go check these three out. I want to say i have heard the 1st and 3rd, but never the Klaxons.

If you haven't listened to trouble andrews (trevor andrews), check him out. half of his songs are pretty solid. He is a snowboarder that likes being a musician to.

I agree with that! The Dropkick Murphy's are so fun to run to. I listen to "Shipping Up to Boston" almost daily.
