Helllo. It's a joy reading through everyone's training. I had another decent week. Sombody mentioned about posting times woth your runs last week. I can see how people might like to see times posted as i always enjoy reading others. With that said i'll try to remember to check my logs and post my times with my runs.

Monday- 6.03 jogging w/ light strides(9:57)+Pm weights and core
Tuesday-2 miles W/U/ 6 @ tempo progression/3 CD 11 miles total(8:28 avg)
Wed-Off- bailed on planned gym workout(asthma and allergies had me down)
Thursday-13 aerobic(8:38)
Friday-5 miles jogging(10:11)
Saturday-20 miles aerobic on flat soft dirt road(8:48)
Sunday- core workout

55 miles total

Allergies have been in and out for the last couple weeks. Literally I get hit one day and their gone the next..it's kinda weird. Anyways Tuesdays workout felt strong. Started at marathon goal pace and progressed down to 15k pace in the last mile. After that day things got kinda weird. It's very very rare when I actually dread running. In fact when it occures it's usually a big warning sighn that I need recovery. Come saturday it was a back and fourth weather or not I was going to wack a 20 miler. I decided on an easy pace on flat dirt road. Overall the whole week left me wasted. With that said my current week is looking light.

Happy training all.

Thanks, it wasn't a PR, but it was a seasonal best.

Oops. Sorry for my mistake, Dan.

I read that your training on 10k week and the week before that had no intensity.
It reminded my 10k PR some years back: I was coming out from a major hip injury and spent June in easy running. In mid July, I jumped into a track 10k race with only 1 race specific training; 35:50 finishing time has surprised me most.
I ran 3.01 in October, a strong stitch at 22 has stopped me going sub-3, but still a PR for me.
My individual experience is that, speed is not my weakness, and I emphasize endurance.
I wish you best luck in your marathon.

Great job on the training and racing everyone.

Dr Wu - good luck

Alan - sorry to hear you are bagging your fall race. It sounds like a good decision. Good luck on your recovery.

last week went like this:

M - Rest
T - 10 miles (7:53) w/ 4 tempo (6:55)
W - 6 easy (8:23)
T - 10 easy (8:06)
F - Rest
S - 19 miles (8:07) Ran the first 2 w/ DW @9:30, then the last 17 under 8:00. A biker mom and her baby rode into me @ 16 miles. I was feeling so good, I just helped them up then kept going. I had to stop a 1/2 mile later to wash the blood off my hand ( didn't even realize I was bleeding!).

S - 6 easy (9:39) w/ DW

51 total

This week is a cutback week, with a 5K on Sunday. I'll probably be right around 40 for the week.

Have a good week everyone.

Thanks. It sounds like we're a similar type of runner, speed comes easier to me than endurance and sometimes I seem to run best the less race specific training I do.

Best of luck in your marathon as well.
