No need to get all specific on me - but the idea of a crisp fall day is rather attractive right now

Spaten Munich beer
Born in 1397
A brewing tradition
Equivalent to heaven

In Bavaria was brewed
Under the Sedlmayr name
With German purity laws
Lived three centuries of fame

So you can take your Hacker-Pschorr
Your Paulaner - Yuengling or Bass
Or any other piss-poor brew
And – well you get the idea…

I want chili......and it will be in the low 90s all week. Anyone ever make a form of grilled chili? BTW, thanks for everyone's chili addition items. They gave me great ideas. I like to use a variety of beans and not just dark red kidney. I once used peas and had to eat the whole batch myself. I liked it but no one else would even taste it. Same with zucchini, unless it is very finely chopped. I like to use it up, differently, but once anyone hears the "z" word, they will not partake.

Our local supermarket has BBQ sauces now from Redbone's. It is amazing how everything ties to this BEER thread.

JamesV and goindownsouth seem to have stopped their Yuengling discussion

Nothing really to continue on my end. Yuengling, for me, is an after thought...

No worries...

Perhaps you could present that in a haiku?

I'm couting 5 - what happened to the last bottle?

I've been chased by Ozzie fans before - it was bit intense.

We still have one Monkey left, plus a few Hop Devils.C'mon over, LT. I am less than 10 minutes from Six Flags Darien Lake, home of tomorrow's Warped tour. It will be mid 90s and there will be dozens of heat exhausted mosh kids carried out.

I only got one bottle of the Dogfish Head-$3.00 at this weird beer store in PA. (After my GM experience, I only bought one)

The Jurassic beer fridge now has an amazing beer assortment of stuff I had to try, courtesy of all of you. To thine own self be true, I am still a Miller Lite fan. Mr Beave has been very amused by this change in me and still asks often what BEER has to do with running websites. Some things you just cannot explain.

My vacation observations: we place far more value on possessions than we do on one another, some at least do.
The other was something I overheard a waitress say, after being unfairly mistreated by customers: "Life is a waste if we can't just be nice to one another".

I'll drink to those thoughts, and now return to my work-induced psychotic fantasies: how many push pin holes would it take to bleed someone out? Today is "month end" here, and they expect all of the payments to be in before I leave. I was to leave at 3:30.....I may be wearing this dress still, tomorrow...

No, that's true; they are the oldest "Brauerei" in the world, for their beer.

Pretty much wouldn't work out otherwise.

....yep! And I taste like toothpaste. The OCD is still focused on tooth whitening. If they can only make a tooth whitening beer......
It is 93 and heat index is 110. This is unprecedented. Too hot to eat. Just had some iced tea for lunch. My nephew is at the Warped Tour concert today. There will be lots of heat sick kids at that concert.

I saw The Police at JFK in '83 ... It was blazing hot and humid, like today.

When they came out, Sting - being Sting, of course - said, "The temperature is 98.6 degrees ... the same temperature as blood."

They brought fire trucks up to the edge of the stage and fired the hoses up in the air to create a nice fountain.

Naturally some of the girls - being girls, of course - got their tops wet and/or took them off for Sting - being Sting, after all.

*Interesting footnote: REM opened the show ; yeah, the band with Mike Mills. I didn't see them. I was busy getting high in the lot. It was too hot to get drunk.

Several of us have a Buffalo connection. I live in the outskirts of Buffalo.
I went to Munich when I was 15, and drank at the Hofbrauhaus several times. Someday, I will get back there.

Kölsch is a nice style, but I much prefer a Munich Helles style lager of a Bavarian Hefeweizen... Then there are the bocks...

El Seńor is from Niagara Falls – the New York side. We also have spent a lot of time in Germany and were planning to move there – that is until we spent a lot of time there. We were mainly in Berlin and Hamburg. His family is from Poland, so we hung out there as well. We were there in 1990 and they were quite amused by my beer drinking. Women there – at least at that time – didn’t drink beer. Vodka - -sure – but not beer. Or drive either. I also speak better Polish than El Seńor. Pivo prosze.
