All this top and bottom fermenting........yeesh!Not a fan of what we call "Molson Golson". Too prone to skunkiness for my taste, which as everyone knows, is "light". When we were in Stowe, we drank a lot of "Hit the Trail" ale. it was pretty good. We tried some local brews as well.

And I don't believe Molson Golden qualifies as Ale by either definition.

I truly think that the last time I had Molson Golden, was in the Philly Spectrum parking lot before an Aerosmith show.

La Tortuga, I love brown ales and they are so quick to make..... If anyone sees Ellie's Brown Ale by Avery Brewing Co (choclate lab on the picture), get it! A beautiful brown ale, malty but also has a very interesting hop finish going for it. Highly recommended. Now if your looking for the malty sweet of english brown's this aint it mind you. This is a very american take on the style.

Thanks, I've been looking for someone who's tried the Avery line. I'm intrigued by their packaging. I especially like the world map on the IPA and of course the Devil on White Rascal.Sadly, they're stacked next to Redhook, which I have seriously lost favor with.

Ah - my favorite in-law beer.I have also heard that if you shampoo with it, it can make your hair clean and shiny.

OMG- you look just like a friend of ours. It is almost freaky. However, the red hair depicted above is nowhere near the bright melony orange my sister had the summer she was a circus peanut head.I have this serious crush on a red headed runner that lives in this area. Hardcore.....he's a great runner, too. Well, I am so awake now. G'mornin' Beer Peeps! Where is RunMonkey??

Molson Golden falls under the hockey/alienation family of beers from my childhood. I also remember a dark family period of Old Milwaukee. Also Meister Brau. Then, later, a dark period in San Francisco's Tenderloin that featured "Burgie" and "Lucky" at $3 a twelve pack, which I drank with my boyfriend's brother in his apartment with a delightful view of the crack cocaine-crazed prostitutes and neighborhood drug dealers, and perfectly decent Vietnamese families trying to get through each day without getting killed. Good old crack cocaine. These days crystal meth gets all the press.
Hello beer people. We got Stella Artois yesterday because I spent too much at the grocery store and felt unjustified in buying the Dogfish 90 I had been eyeing. It is also on the short list of standardized beer we drink in the monkey residence. I keep thinking I will get one of those big Emmett Otter jugs of BBC Lost Sailor and then when I go into our cavernous local booze emporium my eyes skip right past it. I have Fridays off from work, which is delightful because I think otherwise I would run out of the building screaming at 5:00.

My mom used to drink Piels beer. It is a lower rung on the hockey/alienation ladder of The Great Desperation series. She also liked a beer called Wiedemann's. Both were quite inexpensive. These were the beers I had to pilfer from in my early teens, when everyone would steal 2 beers from home and meet at the beach.

HERE'S where I meant to post this, not the Exhaustion thread:I just went to pick up an excess student loan check I had, and instead of being $35 (as I fully expected) it was a over $5000. I will now buy some really good beer to celebrate. Suggestions?
