Err... I don't understand the question. As far as Mingus goes, you did send me a picture of him once. And he is named after Charles, right?

I think she would like to know who that is, what is his deal, etc., but I could be mistaken.

Yep - in fact I ahve The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady on as we speak. He is wearing an outstanding hat that El Senor took a liking to and spent many months on e-bay searching for one just like it. He bought one that is too small - mine!!! And eventually received one from a friend that traveled to Kazakhstan. Wow - I sent you a photo of Mingus? Can you send it to Randy to post? She really is cute and deserves some space in our BEER conversation. Edited to fix typos [This message has been edited by La Tortuga (edited Jan-11-2006).]

I would, but I don't have it any more - sorry. I lost tons of stuff the last time my computer dieded. I haven't had a good beer in a long time. What was the last beer you had that made you say - or think - "dang", or words to that effect?

Go back to Page One ... of this year (I have to specify now???): Just before the Xmas holiday I had Dogfish Head Pangaea. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- from the website: Brewed with ingredients from every continet (crystallized ginger from Australia, water from Antarctica, basmati rice from Asia, etc...), this is slightly spicy ale, with a mouthful of rich flavors. 7% abv --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine a fruitier (orange), spicier (ginger/clove) version of DFH :60 IPA and you'd be pretty close

Okay, LT you're really starting to creep me out ... I just decided TODAY ... THIS MORNING, if fact ... what to call it ... [This message has been edited by randymar (edited Jan-11-2006).]

I am confused - I don't see an image and am not sure what you decided to call it...

We just needed to post to reset the conversation.By the way - the brown ale turned out just fine. Not too much malt, with a balance of tasting and smelling hops. I actually do not need to tweak it at all. Now who is Carlos Ruiz Zafon?

By the way ... you're crazy. I finished that wonderful collection (the last 25 pages) with another botlle of DFH Pangaea. This bottle was a little bit stronger and much spicier than the first, almost a Punkin Ale kind of spicy.

I think it's only fair that you should run it by us first. quote: Now who is Carlos Ruiz Zafon?
The guy who wrote one of the most engrossing books I've read in years. Seriously, pick this book up - Shadow of the Wind. Would I steer you wrong? Speaking of which, how is A Void coming? I'll be honest with you, I still haven't read it. I bought it before it went out of stock, and never got around to it. Now it's buried in a box somewhere with all my other old books (our apartment's too small - we didn't unpack a lot of stuff after our last move).

It is in a keg - perhaps one of these days when you are heading up to Maine and passing right PAST my front door - you might stop in for pint and see for yourself. quote: Originally posted by MikeMills: The guy who wrote one of the most engrossing books I've read in years. I had to put it down for a bit. I was starting to read it too fast and was missing some of the more subtle aspects of this book. Also I got stuck on the word imboglio and so on. In the meantime I started "Reading Lolita in Tehran", got distracted by all of the Nabokov references and then read "Invitation to a Beheading". I need to get back to A Void soon though before I forget the plot. Go find you copy and see if you can start it as well.

Hey, you never know... We are planning another trip sometime this year on the condition that it not be july or august. I would rather eat funk on fear factor than spend another un-air-conditioned week in Maine in the heat.

It isn't the heat, but the humidity. There is an art festival here in my neighborhood during July. We have friends that have come out for this and one of them has fainted at it two years in a row. We now call if the faint-fest and she will not come out during those months either.

Technically you're right ; ) But when speaking I don't think I'd ever say "non-air-conditioned." It just comes out "un". It's a vernacular thing (or a Texan thing... DANG).

Or should it be non-? What was that rule again?

I guess some words are non-un-able and others are un-non-able.
