They are worth seeing - david Kane is the leader, but hangs out in the back with his keyboard. They have a violin and sax in front that are talented as well as amusing. Not sure if I will go Sunday, as we tend to drink more beer than look at art.[/QUOTE] Really - what do you drive?

Chip Strip= Chippewa Street. An entire block of bars catering to anyone that just turned 21. It is the legal version of the old hooker-infested Chippewa. "it's the same, just different".....Allentown will always age gracefully, and artfully. Nietszche's is still a great bar to see live music, and likely has the same dirt it had the last time you were there. Umbrage question: Does anyone ever leave umbrage,or do we always just take it?

Been there – El Señor grew up in Niagara Falls, so this is hardly a maiden voyage. I did make the mistake once of ordering “Buffalo wings” and was told that I was being redundant. That it would be better if I just referred to them as “wings”.

I will be driven in my TrailOBite Trailblazer,if we take mine.If not, I will be driven in whatever my friends pick me up in. In real life, I drive people crazy. Getting there is their problem.I agree,BTW,about Anchor bar;THE birthplace of chicken wings. Great beer selection, and I think live music on Sunday. Sun: Tudor Lounge on Franklin. Jony James Blues Band.7pm. Highly recommend it.

Nietszche's - I haven't been there in years - I love that place. Umbrage - if one is in a good mood, perhaps they could take or leave it.

Sometimes I wonder what I would weigh if I had never drank beer. Or how much money I would have.

It is best not to think of such things.

I tried the Beck's premier light to trim a few off the waist, ya know. It's not cheap, but it sure tastes like it is.

I wonder what my abs would look like if I stopped drinking beer. 300 crunches a day and still have a bubble belly. I ponder this often. I did stop drinking beer for a month last year, and my weight stayed exactly the same. It was a sign from God, I felt, to continue my relationship with beer.

Randymar, that isn't your estrogen, but hey, we all have our pet names.Guess the CH folks decided not to visit after all. They're talking about beer, too. It seems to be everywhere today. Anyone try that Blue Moon Ale? They sell it here with small oranges. Am unfamiliar with this pairing.

Hey, I just bought this! Because it's on sale, of course. I'm not wild about it, I think it's a little monochromatic. The oranges are a nice touch, though. I was going to buy one to go with but I (not kidding) ran out of money, a circumstance that keeps recurring.

It is on sale here, too. I thought I'd try something other than Miller Lite. The oranges are very small, like small limes. I am always broke, too. I can understand completely. Since I stopped working OT, my check is $150 less, every 2 weeks. OT is crack. Never again.....it creates an illusion of income that isn't real.I guess the Blue Moon is the new Yuengling here. Can't wait to see how the bars lingo this, because "Yuengs and Wings" is getting old.

I'm an on-again, off-again fan of the Blue Moon. The orange really fills out the flavor nicely (it contributes a nice aromatic aspect.) The beer is better on tap, but I forget that and buy the bottles sometimes anyway.
Oh, I'm from the CH. The weight and money comment was my attempt to stir something up. But really, who wants to argue about beer? Now, drink too much beer and fight... that's another story.

They usually drop in, say they're drunk or complain that the thread is too long, then leave. So far, the BEER thread has been proven to be pretty much troll-proof.

See, that's why this thread is NOT in the Clubhouse ... we don't argue. In fact we really don't talk about beer much at all. It's a relatively new phenomenon.

Ah.... I am seeing now. I was in the CH too. They're also talking about beer in several threads. Thanks for the info on Blue Moon. There is a beer store near here that now has about 25 beers on tap, and they fill growlers up! I believe Blue Moon was one of the drafts, too. I like the beer thread. It is very informative, foodwise, as well.

NOW I REMEMBER YOU!!! Page 45!!! quote: Originally posted by randymar: Um, sorry, but that's Coors my friend. Not acceptable.I think she would be better served by a real Belgian White like Hoegaarden.Domestically, Ommgenang Witte has to be a winner, as is Victory Whirlwind. Why not give Magic Hat Circus Boy a try, if you're looking for something citrusy??? Southampton is now bottling their Belgian White Ale as well, which is very good. I've heard good things about Allagash.

It's my job as managing editor of the BEER thread - and bartender - to remember the names and faces of those who pass.I don't remember it getting this crowded, though.

"Light" like, not dark or that awful marketing word???Since I don't care for that word (or NASCAR beers that include it) I will offer some very good non-dark brews. This week, I had a Magic Hat Hocus Pocus, which as I said is nearly ginger ale colored. Your Hefeweizens and Belgian Whites like Hoegaarden, Magic Hat Circus Boy, Harpoon UFO and even that Blue Moon stuff, are light crisp and refreshing, escpecially as it gets warmer. There are also the pilseners; Pilsner Urquell and Stell Artrois, which although share the original recipe of Bud and Miller, haven't f'd it all up with corn and rice. Victory Prima Pils and Brooklyn Pilsner are excellent light beers. Anchor Wheat (fruitless) is a good catch, too.
