Yes, I took one for you, too ... nice, big and fluffy.

I wanted to take the bathrobe also, but there would have been too much explaining to do.

The key to good English tea: Indian tea leaves. The key to a good British towel: Egyptian cotton.

I'm female....I was mainly congratulating Magic Hat on their ability to manipulate me into buying their product instead of all the other products available to me in my cavernous (?) and somewhat depressing local liquor warehouse, thanks to their packaging and a promise of springtime IPA freshness...it worked.

As I believe I've mentioned before, my local Liquors 44 looks like it hosts AA meetings after hours. Confusing.

The key to a good hotel towel: It still smells like the swimming pool, or a lavender/jasmine/sandalwood blend.

Last night, I very nearly picked up "Clown Boy," MH's hefeweizen, since it's pushing 60-70° around here for the next couple of days.

But I figured LT would rather have the HiPA. Since we only have one left; tonight, Clown Boy it is.

You know, I never thought of MH as marketing to women, but more of a DeadHead / PhishHead / hippie sensiblity, with a bit of a Harry Potter / D&D / Lord of the Rings side.

But, if a chick's into that kind of thing - and I know a few who are - better for MagicHat.

Gee, Mike, there's an awful lot of girls in here today.

Why don't you go apologize to one of them??? You might get lucky.

You forgot - we split it.

The Clown Boy is next and then maybe the untitled ### beer that we can rate.

What fun!!!

I believe RM is from happy valley so that head description is probably accurate. (no offense)

That would be "Batch 373" - why is it those "Batch" numbers remind me of "Experiment 626???" Have I seen "Lilo & Stitch" once too often???

Anyways, "Batch 373" in the "Joe's Garage" [shut up, Universe, I get it already!!!] 12-pack is a porter. Can I go for porter tonight, or anytime this weekend???

Dunno.

I didn't go to Penn State, but I partied there.

None taken.

Besides LT's been known to knit with hemp.

Is happy valley a pioneer valley reference or some other reference? If the latter, yes.

OK: here's what I'm basing my 'targeting to women' observation on:
1. a soft, pastel palette (I can't spell any more.)

2. THE BIG OL' WOMAN HEAD on the side of the carton and on the label. Lots of swooshing big hair, pretty face, cascade of flowers. But no St. Pauli Girl-style barmaid whatcanigetyousir-type illustration.

3.I'd bet (and I'm basing this on absolutely nothing but a long-established fondness for theorizing about things I know nothing about): I bet women buy more 'seasonal' beers than men.

4. "Seasonale: a rejuvenating ode to spring"

I'm really just making stuff up here. I just find marketing and advertising really fascinating, possibly because I've never had to sit through any classes in it. OK, here's what I think I'm saying...I think this beer is the beer equivalent of a chick flick. It's not that guys won't go to see it, it's not that guys won't buy it, but they'll do so accompanied by a woman, and, when standing in the liquor store and vacillating between a nice cold chardonnay and a couple of bottles of Arrogant Bastid, MH HiPA will sidle on up to the guy and whisper in his ear, "Hey sugar, I bet she'd spend some time with me" and he'll suggest it, maybe pick up a lemon or something to go with, and our lovers will go home in mutual alcohol satisfaction. To watch Sex and The City on DVD.

And that's it! That's my theory and I'm sticking to it!

Close but it was MH #9.

I had Rogue Dead Guy Ale. LT had the #9. I'd heard stories of Magic Hat but never tried it. She said she liked it, for the odd reason that she didn't like fruit in beer. I fell immediately - it just took some time to realize.

It wasn't Sex in the City, it was The Princess Bride.
