Huh?! Why??!!! Maybe it wasn't a keeper, but if you couldn't enjoy that movie for what it was you must've had a few too many homebrews first...

What beer to drink while watching Ocean's 12?Sea Dog!!! Oops - actually I think that they only brew - but not the Raspberry Wheat or Blueberry concoction - blech! Or Smuttynose - that would be good. I had to think a while, but I guess that I would cast Randymar as Brad Pitt - but only because I am in a good mood. I didn't see Ocean's 12 though only Ocean's 11.

The whole movie is an exercise in style, and it works. It should be completely obvious (realman!) - like during the whole "Julia Roberts" thing - that this was not a movie Soderberg took all that seriously. Unlike, say, Bubble. And if you haven't seen Solaris, you should watch that, too. Brilliant.

Now, if you said, "I think Randy would be great as Brad Pitt's CHARACTER (Rusty Ryan)" I'd be good with that. He was smart, slick, dressed well, and was always snacking. In Ocean's Eleven, anyway.

Nothing, nothing at all. Except that it unleashed J-Lo upon us, but I can live with that. Great movie. I like ALL the Elmore Leonard movies ... Get Shorty, Jackie Brown, Be Cool, etc.

For the record, Ocean's Eleven pretty good movie, Ocean's Twelve snooze fest. quote: Originally posted by MikeMills: The whole movie is an exercise in style, and it works. I found that whole Julie Roberts thing painful to watch.

She was good in The Mexican, which coincedently starred Brad Pitt. I was really surprised that I liked that movie as I am not a fan of Roberts or Pitt.

Anything that has the word "Mexican" in the title, had better have Salma Hayek.

Well as long as we're movie bashing - I was running along the Mystic River this morning - that movie was the worst."Is that my daughter in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Plus they didn't even use the Mystic River - they used the Charles. What's up with that? Movies that I recently liked: Garden State - and not just because it is set in Jersey Off the Map Walk the Line Also Touching the Void - that one isn't truly recent, but in the whole timeline of cinematic history it most certainly is.

Yeah, Mystic River was a bit... I dunno, self-indulgent? And a real downer. Touching the Void was incredible - blew my mind. I'm glad somebody else has seen it!

I agree on Mystic River. I had read the book and was quite disappointed in the movie. This may be heresy but I did not think it was that well acted. Garden State - Isn't that like 10 years old by now? Off The Map - Never heard of it. Walk the Line - Number #125 on the waiting list. I did see Wolf Creek a while back and liked it. It was a little brutal but if you can handle such things it was good. The new King Kong sucked. Exorsism of Emily Rose was good.

No - please go see it. It has some really funny parts that I can't tell you about because that would give it away before you got a chance to see it. See?

As I crossed the knee-deep meadow, grasshoppers leapt ahead of me like porpoises playing off the bow. Butterflies did their best impressions of seagulls in the surreally cerulean sky. A thin gravel ribbon lay below the tall grass, tying together two clouds of pine forest six hundred yards apart. A massive island of granite sat amid the pasture, calling me to rest. I was thirsty; I obeyed. I propped my creaky conveyance, climbed the miniature mountain, and took a well earned five. Above me circled a majestic Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) I saw him, he saw me. Our eyes met. His brow knitted with a look that said, “This is going to be good!!!”I’m not wearing that bunny jersey ever again. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mendocino Red Tail Ale A lot like Sam Adams, trading Sam's full creamy head for a bit more caramel flavor. Despite the thin foam, nicely aromatic. A little watery, but still enjoyable. This would be a nice post-ride/run beer.
