Have you ever BEEN to Cambridge??? She's probably being actively recruited for the other team on a daily basis.

Don't you have to actually be a gay Englishman to play the Gay Englishman Stereotype card? And who's in Cambridge? Did LT move?! And why are we always talking about her like she's not reading this stuff?

NTTAWWT.

You're talking about brewing again, right, not some sort of temporary transgender appliance???

Nah, you should be able to use it over and over. Mine's still on there - although I only brew a couple times a year.

Imagine walking around the gayborhood twice a day with a fluffy little shih-tzu. Why do you think I called him Dave?

Just becasue I'm reading this, does not mean that I am actually paying attention.

For example - am I supposed to know what NTTAWWT means?

I didn't know there were rules for that, Simon. But yu English have funny little rules for everything - e.g., add the water to the tea, not the other way around

I think more folks have heard of Cambridge than Somerville, but I could be wrong.

It's kind of like when the "gang" is sitting at the bar and they make fun at one person's expense, just to illicit a response, knowing full well that it will come back to them in turn.

It's in the new one - Mariel likes it better, FWIW. It's how Tim Burton adresses the fifth (and fake) ticket.

You MUST have it???

By the way, I'm with Mariel: the newer version is superior and much needed. Gene Wilder was great, but the movie is well dated.

I like the newer Oompa Loompas.

Do you have the 2-disc set??? You can learn the dances on it, plus it has an excellent bio of Roald Dahl.

I also bought myself "The Line King" DVD for Xmas with a Borders gift card I received. It is a documentary about the late great Al Hirschfeld. I burned the rest of the gift card with 2 Gorey books: "The War of the Worlds" (gotta love the magenta cover!!!) and "The Haunted Looking Glass: Ghost Stories"

Weird - the Oompa Loompas are one of the biggest reasons a lot of people dislike the movie. I love Deep Roy.

Nope, just the regular version. We're watching it tonight.

Man, all I ever need for Christmas is gift certificates to book stores. I only got one this year, but I used it to finally pick up this guy's two books...

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=qK1EIfpCUw&isbn=0375423214&itm=1

I saw the War of the Worlds book, too. Very nearly picked it up - something to keep on the coffee table, or on the loo.

Back to beer? Had an Old Thumper and a Prima Pils during the Texas game. I think Texas won. Whatever...

I just found this gem from the archives:

It's hard going ... each page of CR translates to about 5 pages of MS Word (Arial, 10 pt, 6 pts. before and after each paragraph). I'm getting 2 or 3 done a day. With 2003 coming in at 114 pages, 2004 a mere 9, and 2005 a nice 52 ... I should be done by Spring.

Let me say this ... We were Gods back then!!!

I wonder what happened to Sarah Jayne??? She added a lot - before LT showed up of course.
