Do you think maybe it might be possible to ban mentioning that beer from now on? Because it comes up a lot, and I've been hearing about it for years, and I really want one.

Now you know how I feel about your damn'd Arrogant B'stard.

Really? I never knew that! Yeah, that is a good beer. But they only sell two of their beers in Texas: regular Arrogant B@stard and their regular IPA (which is far from regular). They've got lots of others I wish I could get my hands on. Anyways, as soon as I get some funds together, I'll sends one out to you - promise.

It'd be my pleasure. I know I don't owe you, but I always appreciated that package from the north...

I have to doe the same thing with the ice cubes. People are amazed by how I tilt the tray so water fills one cube then trickles down to fill the rest. BTW. Tonight I will be brewing my Dutch Pilsner (finally). I've never made one but it should be good.
I've sampled the ChocoBock and hate to admit I am disappointed. If wish I could have found the recipe I used the first time I made it because that batch came out excellent. This one does not have the same Chocolate taste and actually seems light despite it's high original gravity. It also doesn't smell all that good, but that seems to be subsiding with time. Next time more chocolate malt, more vanilla, more aroma hops and maybe more chocolate.

Hey, could I get some recommendations from you guys? My boyfriend and I are in a beer rut. I love Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, he likes Newcastle Brown. Any suggestions for something that might suit both our tastes? We're pressed for refrigerator space and I wouldn't mind trying something new.

First question (and this is important) ... where are you?? Second question (equally important) ... are you trying to find a middle ground or something that you've both never tried, outside your comfort zone, that you might like??? If you're going for a middle ground, there's a lot of space between California and England.

Oh yeah, let's see how this works ... "What can I get you, bud???" "Arrogant B@stard." "Excuse me???" "Arrogant B@stard." "One, more time, please. I may have misunderstood." "Arrogant B@stard!!!" "Okay!!! That's it!!! Splinter!!! Twinkles!!! Take this 'Arrogant B@stard' out back and teach him some manners!!!"

We're in Western MA. I'm actually not sure whether I'm looking for a middle ground or something challenging. I like crisp, dry, and bitter. I think I'm just looking for some ideas so I just don't go grab some random overpriced microbrew off the shelf and find I hate it.

Magic Hat has just released their Hi.P.A. for 2006 quote: Hi.P.A. is a medium-bodied groove with a fresh and fruitful nose of tympanic temptation. It begins and ends with a big hop bite that is itself forever balanced on the brink by a steady rhythm of malt. Dry-hopped for extra quenching in the face of heat and beat, it's an ideal accompaniment to chilling out, turning inward or sailing onward through the music of the night toward the dawn of the mind. It's the liquid way to say be here now lest you never come this way again.
Sorry, I didn't write that. Anyways, your're in a good spot for good beer. You can go with MH - either HiPA above, or Blind Faith - form Vermont; Smuttynose from NH; Brooklyn in New York; you can probably get Dogfish Head up there, too. Don't forget the awesome Belgian style brews from Ommegang (NY) and Unibroue (QUE)!!!

Local beers - Tremont Ale Harpoon - like their IPA Ditto the Smuttynose recommendation
Did anyone mention Victory Devil Hop IPA? You need to be a hop head for that one as well as Sierra Nevada Celebration Better yet - brew you own Don't be afraid to screw up as a beer that you may not initially like can grow on you. Especially if you have already shelled out the $$$ Keep an open mind.

Ooooh, Don't forget Rogue - Rogue is everywhere. Get a 22 and share it.They got two new ones in. I'll be sampling them this weekend. Kells Irish Lager is a European-style pilsner brewed with Great Western 2-row, French Carapilsner malt, Sterling hops and Czech pilsner yeast. Kells Irish Lager undergoes one week of primary and 5 weeks of secondary fermentation and weighs in at 11.5 degrees plato with 25 International Bittering Units. Kells Irish Lager was awarded "Lager of the Year, International Section for packaged beer'" at the Australian International Beer Awards in 2001! The recipe was developed for our friends at Kell's Irish Restaurant and Pub, with locations in Portland, Seattle and San Francisco. Kells is also served on tap and available in the 22-ounce bottles at Rogue's five Public Houses. Juniper Pale Ale: the new package for Yellow Snow Ale (winter 2004/2005). While the recipe (a pale ale infused with whole juniper berries) on the label remain the same, the name and label are new for 2005. Juniper Pale Ale is available in the classic 22-ounce bottle and on draft.

Thanks everyone! I look forward to trying these (I think I'll start w/the Juniper Pale Ale, the Berkshire Lost Sailor and the Magic Hat PA). Incidentally, I couldn't tell the difference between Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale and their Pale Ale and suspected they'd just swapped out the packaging...maybe I missed something.
