Tom...luckily for me, this runner runs at a slower pace than me and does 5/1 instead of 10/1. I think it'll be good...and I think I'll bag the run for today! Just gonna eat, drink, read, watch movies, and be merry!

Tom, hubby went in 2003, not now. That was a past story I was talking about. Thank goodness he's out of the military now. Worked out today, but just did legs. Went easy because I'm going for a run tomorrow.

Tom, I made up (sort of) a move to do today. I did a slow squat, then when I got to the top I lifted my leg out to the side. It worked the outside of my legs a lot and it felt great. Felt even better to stretch after. Alternated right and left leg. Can you picture that? What do you think of that move?

HWI//..........good move..........the trick is to see what it does to you after about 3-sessions of work-outs.......if it hurts later on, drop it.... ...............it sounds good though...........------------------ nothing takes the place of persistance....

Hawaii...that sounds like a cool move. I'll have to try that! No run yesterday, did yoga today, wanted to just plant my butt in bed and read and sleep and do NOTHING, but life won't allow that! Tomorrow...6.5!

You guys really keep me motivated!I did my 30-40 minutes on Sunday and Thursday of this week. I may try to get in a run at some point today...just a little "dehydrated" from a Christmas party last night. We are going to ski tomorrow for the first time this season. I'm wondering how I will do since this will be the first ski season where I am in somewhat good shape from running. I hope it will be good! My legs feel strong. I guess I will find out if they are. Enjoy your weekends all...

Hi everyone -its sounds like everyone is doing great! I haven't done any exercise close to a couple of weeks now... at first I really didn't miss it, but am starting to feel better with the new meds now so its a changing... I did get all my xmas shopping done though! Thinking I'll start walking or whatever when I go down south, we leave on Wednesday for a week. It will be a flat neighborhood, so it will be good to see how I'm doing without hills. Linda

Shell...I'm jealous you have someone to run with. I have one friend who runs...but she qualified for Boston this year, so I'm too intimidated. No running to speak of, just shoveling snow...over 2 feet here in Denver...everything is closed. Hopefully we can get out to the gym tomorrow. We will see. Still have a little bit of Christmas shopping to do. Oh well. Noticed a post of yours Tom, about Shingles. Feeling real bad for you. I hope it's not too bad. My mother had shingles a couple years ago. It was horrible. Hope you are all well. Our snow has stopped and no the digigng out begins! Take care.

FIRST//........yeah, your snow made the news everywhere......just shovel easy, and don't pull anything.... .......thanks for the good wishes, but it's about as annoying as poison ivy, so no biggie......... ........remember, Running in Place counts too........(just a thought)....... .................and hit your friend up for some tips,,,,,,,you'll be surprise how supportive other runners are,,,,,,, a buddy of mine only could run 15-min when we started, so I ran at the track, he walked til I was finished and we both enjoyed it (we ran together 10-years, and he was doing 45-min by then-------ya never know)............(just another thought)......,,,,,,Merry Christmas,,,,,,, ------------------ nothing takes the place of persistance....

First...LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW! I wouldn't go so far as to say I have a running buddy yet, but whenever schedules allow we might get to do our long runs together...it's a nice change of pace. Tom...shingles...that sucks! Did 3 today...sucked...was feeling emotional...couldn't slow down, brain just wouldn't shut off. OH well...mama said there'd be days like this. Sat. I'll do 4.5 and then I'm taking a WHOLE WEEK OFF!!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!! (Except for the yoga...I'm really liking that...my leg likes it too!)

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope that everyone has a great holiday and gets what they want (or deserve!!).I haven't really ran in a week. I just was so crazy busy with getting finished for Christmas, plus working that it just didn't fit in with my time. Last Monday I was shopping for NINE hours! How crappy is that. My fault though and I know it. Next year though, I will NOT procrastinate. I have a lot of siblings and I just kept thinking that I would find that perfect gift and I had plenty of time. Whoops. Monday is Christmas, so Tuesday morning I'm getting up and going for a run. If it's not crazy cold here then I'm going outside. It is so much easier and better to run outdoors than on the treadmill. However, if we had one in my own home, that I could watch whatever movie I wanted, it would be a lot better. I just want to move my body. On another thread someone mentioned that "no one enjoys running" and I thought that's crap. I love running and when I couldn't I went through withdrawls. I actually SO need the endorphines, they help so much. Anyway, Happy Holidays to everyone. Tracy

where is everyone?? well we are finally back from Socal! believe it or not the mountain pass getting out of Los Angeles was closed due to snow & ice! Can you believe that?? here we were worried about the mountain pass going into Oregon....I only got out & exercised one time while I was there, went out for 30 minutes, walked some did a run/walk too... which actually surprised me since I hadn't exercised for about 3 weeks before that. I didn't even bring a watch, gps or anything... just went off how I felt... this is a completely new feeling... Schedules played havoc & watching my children in my MILs house with LOTS of breakable stuff.... so that was the only day I could get out there. Will have to start again here in cold Oregon! Linda
