I love this race, and can't wait. Expect a big crowd this year, so everyone get to the Park early. When you think about the guys running after being on dialysis it just gives you goosebumps. Add on the fact that the elite runners will be battling it out is another positive. Hope everyone racing has a good one.

This race always has a great technical shirt. I still wear mine from last year for many races. So do many other NY runners. I'll probably wear it Saturday.

I might wear it tonight after I get it. Let other people in the park only think they missed the race.

1:06:22 ... am I allowed to be totally proud of myself ? Ran the whole way - no walk breaks - felt great - could have run a little further which is a good feeling - maybe I will do that half this fall !!Never in a million years did I imagine I`d be able to run a 10K ! .. Of course the winner was done before i reached the 5K mark ! [This message has been edited by spicegeek (edited May-19-2007).]

spicegeek you should be really proud! great job!! i cant believe the 1st place dude broke the record by only 2 seconds to win $20,000!!! i registered in advance for the Healthy Kidney 10k, but later found out about a 5k on May 20th (tomorrow) in my new neighborhood. so i decided to take today as an easy run. i always feel guilty about that... but i want to race hard tomorrow. i'm thinking i will break 20 mins for 5k lol (but hey, i'm peaking right now for outdoor track, so who knows!) ------------------ My Profile

Congrats to Dathan Ritzenheim on breaking Paul Koetch's 10 year-old Central Park 10K record.

No doubt re: Ritz - wish I could have seen his race! Good day for running in the park; I scored myself a nice little PR too.

The trouble with running in these races is you never see the elites run - unless it`s more than one loop in which case I`d see them passing me !!! - their pace blows my mind -

I ran a 55:54 which is OK for me right now as I'm just coming off knee surgery in Jan. for a torn meniscus. BuUt what gets me is that I did 1:20 BETTER than I did last year, yet I'm way further behind in my age group, all males only, and overall. Where did all these fast people come from all of a sudden? They must have brought in hundreds of elites.Anyone doing Wall Street tonight? Paul [This message has been edited by ny7 (edited May-22-2007).]

I'm running it. Get ready for some chaos at the start (not unlike most NYC races) and running LOTS of corners/turns. It will be a nice evening to run though. Good luck!

So does anyone know just how far the Wall St. run came out to? My Garmin showed something like 3.33 but I know that's off, however it did seem to be a tad further than the "about 3 mile" course description. Opinions?[This message has been edited by runningINnyc (edited May-22-2007).]

I thought the Wall St. Run was probably 3.0 miles. Last year the course was altered to be only 2.9. I guess we'll find out WED at noon. This is one of my favorites because it is different and outside of the park. I've learned to get near the front at the start for this one because of all the "one time runners" and walkers who do this race.Paul

I did the same thing Paul - was way further up than last year; I learned my lesson I do like running somewhere outside the park as well and it was a perfect evening too.
