I'm so glad that everyone did well with no injuries reported so far! Congrats kestrou! I know it must feel great to finally meet that goal of getting to Boston!!!!!!!

I had hoped to finish in 4:30 but told myself that if I went over a little bit that was fine too...It was my first after all, I had no idea what it would be like. But I did it in 4:21:23!!! I felt so great about my time, it didn't seem real to me. It was a great experience running with TNT also because there was just so much support.

A friend from my chapter was actually the first TNT person to finish! He did it in 3:03 and is Boston bound also for his second time! He is really good, one of those that makes it look SO easy...he got that time even with a bathroom emergency

I posted my "race report" in the Marathon trainers thread in the Newbie forum:

http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/Forum3/HTML/046445.shtml

I think I will definitely try this race again next year! Our friends who came to watch us - but missed us - want to start running and think the HM is a good goal to train for for next year.

I am here. The race went okay, I finished just under 3:02. It was pretty fun and we couldn't have asked for better weather to run a marathon in. Standing around at the start was a bit cold but it was great for running. I was talking to several others around me after the finish and we all agreed we could have run all day in weather like we had. I am a bit upset I didn't get under 3 but I really didn't expect to. I feel I didn't train properly; not enough speed work and not enough long fast runs. That is the problem of living in Minnesota, we didn't have any longer races (half marathon, 25k, etc) races in December to help me get ready. I will say however that the ten consecutive sundays where I ran at least 19 miles did make the 26 feel pretty easy.

Congratulations all, I thought it was a lot of fun even if I didn't get my goal.

congrats all around. sorry you didn't feel sharper spinach, but that will certainly change when spring thaws. nice job kestrou, and have a great time in boston. i'm looking at that race too, but need to figure out details.

i ran scared for the first 18 but didn't bonk. this was the first time i used gels in a marathon, and they provided the answer that i needed! ran faster for the last 8 miles and finished 2:58:35, a five minute pr for me. more details at:

stay relaxed and enjoy your recoveries everyone. cheers,
mc

Spinach, thanks for posting, I was wondering how it went. Pretty close to your target, I hope you get it on the next try.
