OK, so I will give you the CliffNotes version of this since I am less than satisfied with the overall results...

This was a family event -- KeeMan was running the Frosh/Soph race and CamScam and I were running the Open race.

Goals coming in -- pretty lofty!!!

Goals coming out -- CamScam rocked the FRICKIN' House!!!

First race of the day, KeeMan ended up getting boxed in and every surge he put forth got covered. He finished 61st out of 274 in 17:46.

In the open race -- CamScam ran an EXTREMELY smart race with a middle mile in 6:48 (since it is downhill) to finish in 22:52 (a HUGE course PR and a 40 second distance PR). He was 150/209. CamScam is the BEAST of the family.

As for the old man -- I finished 49/209 in 17:55. A bit less than hoped for, but I am too old to whine!!!

Here's link's to snapshots from both races...

Boys Frosh/Soph: KeeMan is 302

Open Race: CamScam is 75 and I am 76...

Hermosa,

Wow there are lots of fast bare legs in MN snow. The pics are terrific. They capture so much effort. Of course I looked for the fleet family, but I also looked at all those runners I don't know..their strides, their faces. Congratulations to CamScam; he sure gave it his all.

I had to look twice at your time and KeeMan's. Terrific times; it's unbelievable how many were faster. KeeMan and you will both have better races. CamScram is after you guys.

It's so great that you and your sons all participate in these meets. Memories are made of this.

Sue

You guys are fast! Even on snowy wet grass! Great series of photos to study running styles. You guys all have very competive expressions! Way to go CamScam!! Nice PR! I did note that KeeMan beat his "Old" Man

HermosaClan rocks the course! Nice job boys. I would to see you guys run in person, but it would have to be after the spring thaw. It looks like it was cold there.

Congratulations!

Well done to you and the boys. You are one fast clan. I know that footing is treacherous, tough for a PR. Spareribs

Wow - Great stuff. What a fleet family you have!

My son is also an XC runner - but not a very fast one. - He's a big kid (more built for football) and only a freshman so he frequently finishes dead last. - But he's out there trying and improving.

DFL is better than DNS!

Congrats to him for participating and trying to improve! Just sticking with it will show major dividends!!!

It's neat the hermosa clan got to run together, and very well. All did well but, I agree, CamScam was the hero of the day. Congrats to all.

I so admire you for racing with your boys. What a great way to create memories with the "old man". Congrats to all of you.
