Vista. You are a marathoner. What a great report and congratulations on keeping a cool head during the first half and keeping some time in the bank. The first one is always the doozy and the next ones will allow you to play a bit more with your pace and finishing times. Way to go Tall

Joey, you did good. I know your Dad was with you every step and is more proud of your accomplishment than maybe even you. Looking forward to running with you at Knoxville in the spring. Great job Joey, great run.Good running Joey, Jim

Love that plan Her winning offer made in a loud voice said...."I have plenty of toilet paper" Mom never warned me about strangers with toilet paper. I simply veared off and went in to find out what they had for food while saying...."Thanks for the breakfast invite". They had a great laugh and invited me to stay The event should be about having fun Fun.
I quickly reached out and hit two hands only to realize I had missed the first little boy in this family of three. About 100 feet later, I realized I HAD to go back and give this young man his "high five". When I circled back, I came up to the surprised young boy and apologized for not seeing him and offered...."I certainly didn't want to miss YOU". Well done. It's impossible to impart how cool this is.
This RR is way too kewl and shows a part of your character that we haven't seen before. Sweet.

Excellent report. It is always nice to see somebody pull in a time well below what they had expected. About McMillan it is scary how accurate it can be!

Very hard to do in a first marathon but when your brain says your gunna do it, no way is a little thing like supposed lack of training miles gunna stop ya. Your planning and execution were pefection and the mileage breakdowns in your rr will be good reference comparisons for future marathons. (However, maybe do it in Kms to use a few more of those "f" words next time).

My apologies for getting to this race report so late after you posted it. But I knew this would be a very special report and I wanted to make sure I had ample time to read and absorb every word of it. Joey - you ran an amazing race! I love how you remembered the details of the things that occurred to add to the enjoyment factor - the lady rummaging through the clothes for her family, going back to give a high 5 to the little boy, etc. I chuckled at how you forgot to eat breakfast? How does one *forget* to fuel up before a big race?!! LOL You race a very nice consistent pace throughout the race and came up under your goal. That was quite a success! I hope I'm able to run as good and focused a first marathon as you have Joey. Thanks for taking us along on your first marathon journey. ------------------ Tamalina

Tramps, !Vista, I apologize for the late reply....your RR was well worth my wait. What fun, to run faster than expected, yet clearly within the Fun Zone! This is surely a memory to treasure. Congratulations, marathoner!

Vista... Great report. The high five thing is cool - not very often that kids want to be seen with us, much less give us five. The part about your father hit home with me.... My dad used to be the first guy I called after a marathon and I still miss doing that...
