What a season you've had! Nice time-- the overall and age group placings were especially impressivie. The 40-44 group is usually one of the toughest.Congratulations on a fine race and season.

What can I say? Absolutely perfect execution of a marathon!! You saved energy during the first half, challenged yourself on the second half, and cruised in for that Master's title! I think you could have gone even faster if you'd reel the tongue in before the finish Now that you're "elite" status, I hope you won't forget about us mere mortals..... Fantastic! John

Congratulations on a fine race. I saw you twice. Once, just after the Drake Stadium. Again at the final turn, by the percussion section. I got pics, too, but yours are much better. It was just amazing to watch the Kenyans sail by, then a very few others, then our HB! What a day.------------------ Fortunate--a volleyballer with a running problem Profile

I thought that was you out on the course -- but then again, my mental processes weren't that strong. Thanks for the cheers!!! For others with your kind words -- a most gracious thank you! I am extremely happy with my 10 minute PR. Now I just need to recover...

Hey Rob - since it seems you have a pretty good coach, similar goals (and great success) - could you give me an idea of your training leading up to DesMoines... particularly your LR pace. I'm currently winging it on my training for Philly - like you, hoping to break 2:45 with dreams of breaking 2:40. I think I'm in pretty good shape for that, but could would appreciate any frame of reference (or second hand coaching). Thanks, Ray

Oy! That's some amazing running. I always wondered what it was like way up there in the front of the pack. Congratulations on the PR, the AG win, and a memorable performance.

First in age group and 13th overall. You are definitely an elite athlete hanging out with us mere mortals. Congrats. Impressive run, and even more impressive wardrobe....very colourful, blousy, almost skort-like shorts---clearly demanding the spandex shorts.Clearly you did well and you had fun. ------------------ The longest journey starts with a single step
