Man, Tom, we should bottle you so we can pull you out when we need a lift. What nice things to say... despite their being the result of post marathon delusion, good old-fashioned gallantry, & sweat in your eyes (& a sense of humor). of course, the 20 something was dead-on. ;-)It was crazy maneuvering around there, wasn't it? It was a learning process for me, though I should have expected it. Future intended meetings at events that size should be planned, or at least cell phone #s should be exchanged! Thanks for looking for me, I'm sure that wasn't easy. I looked back & forth-- from where I was initially to the area in front of the band, for just about the same time frame. Like I said, intersecting at all was a stroke of luck. I'd heard the "whole Selbs clan" would be there but didn't know what (who) that entailed. Now I regret more than ever not getting a picture of you all! Please extend my congratulations to all of them. Just thinking about the 4 of you running makes me smile. I need to keep encouraging my DD, who is showing at least a little interest. As for you, what a race! Definitely in your "fine" range, & awfully close to "dream". Great you did so well in the tunnel. No problems with the air? I'd never really thought about the significance of it, thought this was interesting: http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2007710180338. Congratulations, all the way around.

wish I could have hooked up with you and family. Our pace was not that different I was at 1:56 for the first half. Maybe next year. Run long run well Marathon Derrick

The only person on the planet that can garner encouragement -- a high 5 yet -- from a border guard, our TomS. I like this cross-border running idea. You ran very well, Tom, and it sounds like Sandy is really improving. An all-around banner day for the family. How lucky you are.

How cool to have the whole family involved! That Selbs clan is a running bunch, no? Neat to have met Deb too, you sure scored some points with the "twenty something" comment! That is funny that your wife was 10 ft behind when calling... sounds like something DH and I would do... Thanks, Tom!------------------ evanflein

Tom, sounds like you had a good race -- your pace was under your goal. What a treat to have your wife, son and daughter in the race with you! Pics are up and you look great, as usual.
