It sounds to me like it was a pretty darn great time - so where do I sign up for this training plan to run a marathon on only 23 miles??? You did great!!!

That is a tough course there in the second half too. You did an awesome job on sketchy training! Now for your backup marathon..........

Tsk tsk on that first half, but congratulations on toughing it out. You didn't mention that you've been struggling with injuries for most of the past year, so this comeback performance is very inspiring. When you add to that base, watch out! When SS signed up to be part of your support crew, did she know you meant literally? Rest well, Dave

Econo...great job in and it sounds like you had a blast. I'll remember your marathon as I struggle to finish my first marathon in two more months.------------------ Me - Saucony Hurricane 8/Asics GT-2100/New Balance766 - FR305 My Log

You didn't blow it. You just learned a good running lesson while having a good time, at least for a while. Marathoning is kind of yin and yang, don't you think? The highs to come will balance the lows you experienced in this one. And the pank faeries are expanding their number--that has to be good. ------------------ Fortunate--a volleyballer with a running problem Profile

Ok mabe 23 mpw is not enough. But on race day, you're a good enough and smart enough runner to make it work. Congrats Ms Econo, jjj

Econo, I'm so glad you did not lie down in a gutter. I'm so glad you got caramels and a SS escort and a pank fairie dance. I'm so glad you came so close to your PR on 23 mpw. Just think what you CAN and WILL do with a bigger base!!! You rock! Rest up now!

Just one minute off your PR on very light mileage is pretty good. Injuries earlier this year I doubt help with your training schedule. It sounds like you had fun and that is presumably what running a marathon is about.

You did well for your mileage, for sure. Next time, you will obliterate your current PR. Rest up and take it easy for now. We are all impressed by your fortitude and determination.

Econo If you can do that time on the training you did then you are going to be one speedy gal on proper training? Well done for toughing it out and recover well. I'll mark your words carefully for when I do my first this coming weekend. Well done Econo, you've done us proud!

Econo, You really rock. On a low base, coming back from being sick a week ago, I think this is a good performance. Not what you wanted, but a good race just the same. Congratulations on toughing this one out to the end. Nice first half. Next time you'll be sub 4:00 for sure.Tom

Ouch. That's gotta hurt. Isn't it nice to have friends there to pick you up out of the gutter?Quite a performance on such limited training. You've got much faster times in you if you want it. Rest. Walk. Rest. Jog. Rest.

Econo, just consider this another training run for your next marathon. To run within a minute of your PR after losing probably several minutes in mile 25 alone means that you're very close to meeting your goals. Just a bit more weekly mileage and you'll be there.Congratulations on gutting it out, as is your style! ------------------ - Runnin' in Rochester Rochrunner

Hi Econo,Based on your weekly mileage, and on being sick recently, you ran an terrific race! Your first half was outstanding but, obviously, a bit too fast for where you are with your training. Put in a few more miles each week, even things out a bit with your first and second half pacing, and you'll have some blazing marathons in your not-too-distant future. Congratulations on doing well, and on having fun! And thanks to your support team for taking such good care of you. Jay

Econo Rocks!!! If you came within a minute of your PR, you can hardly call that "blowing it" - even if you'd been healthy, etc. You amaze me my friend!------------------ Lil Engine (aka Welsh Pony) "I think I can, I think I can"

Why did you and SS walk right by me on the way back to the hotel? I laid in that gutter all night waiting to be your escort...Seriously, to be one minute off PR considering low weekly mileage, not feeling well at all this week and doing a BUNCH of races in succession....? You performed admirably, as usual. Run Like Hell 5K and Half on 10/21...Prizes for top three M/F in each age group... I know, I play dirty. goetzegal

I don't think you blew it at all! Any time you can run with friends, spend time with others and finish the race very close to your PR time! Nothing bad there, so rest up, refocus your goals and figure out what's next. Hippo had a good offer there...------------------ evanflein

Glad you're recovered well and finished strong Econo, I didn't realize you hadn't been running that much. The sub 2 hour first half probably took a lot out of you, but I'll say you looked awfully hawt in your compression socks when you passed the aid station.Nice seeing you again and hope you're feeling better soon. Now don't forget to tell that certain someone you got his sekrit "present" delivered from me John
