You know, my friend, I didn't try to discourage you from this run, and I knew you would do it. As others have said, your finish time was something lots of us would be very happy with. And can I be the lottery Lucky Guy? Please, please? What a scenic spot. And surrounded by running goddesses. If that's not heaven, I don't know what is.A great, gutsy performance! Now, please rest up a bit. Maybe a little more herbal tea and a little less coffee? (I need to heed that advice myself although I feel great). ------------------ My Profile

How to go. Great job, as usual. Thanks for those pictures, Robin. That makes me homesick for Maine. Now that I run, I have to get up there sometime for one of the races. I think it better be further up in the state....maybe Bar Harbor. Anyway, great pictures. Congratulations on the great run. ------------------ vista129

Robin, it's always nice to see all the pictures in your reports. Love the shots of your son and you look fresh as a daisy -- certainly not a poster child for pneumonia. Good to hear that you didn't struggle too much.

Hi Robin,Congratulations on having a fun day, even when you were far from at your best. Keeping things in perspective when you know you won't have a stellar day is so important, and you managed it very well. It's great that you and your family found ways to enjoy the race, and the beauty of the New England coast on a gorgeous early Fall day. Thanks for the thorough RR, and the terrific photos. Jay

Hey Robin - think you can pull yourself up from your sick bed long enough for a short trail run this week-end?

Great run under tough conditions, Robin! (i.e. your cold, not the venue!) I was expecting some really really slow race, so when I saw 1:50 I laughed ...that's still pretty darn fast for most of us. My grand-daughters wondered why I didn't stop the first time they saw me race too. It took them a while to understand that. Now they think I get a medal every time I go running! I'm working on that one. PJ

Wonderful pics, Robin, what a gorgeous place for a race. Glad you made it to the finish OK... with two good lungs you'll be flying again.

Robin, although we met and I congratulated you at the race and in a separate e-mail I wanted to send my congratulations via our board as well. Considering your wheezing and hacking (both of which I can attest to) you did a spectacular job. Way to preservere under such tough conditions, but on the other hand, what a beautiful location for this race...yes? I hope to post photos for everyone to see of the course and of some of the finishers including you Robin! mc as far as the "one luycky guy" goes ... he was Eric Vermilya from New York and he finished hand in hand with his girlfriend with a net time of 2:15:22 469/OA and 1st in his division! That must have been a great deal of fun. ------------------ My User Profile "Keep on Running" Bob [This message has been edited by bobscamman (edited Sep-25-2007).]
