Hi, everyone.

My race report for last year’s Fitness Magazine Mind, Body, Spirit 4M caused a few smiles, probably because I spent most of the report talking about the free massages at the starting area.

Well, I got there early on Saturday and did it all again, because everyone knows you can’t run if you’re not relaxed. Plus an awesome table stretch given by a very muscular lady named Nikki, who, in addition to being a personal trainer, was a contestant on Star Search. Heck of a stretch.

Anyway, it was in the low 80s and very humid, but I had a great run: averaging 9:50 minute miles, which is excellent for me. Followed by the new “healthy” choice by our other corporate sponsor, McDonalds: apple McDip or something like that, which was surprisingly tasty. Not a bad Saturday morning, all things considered.

(BTW, I gave one of my Dasani waters to one of the massage therapists; she told me I rock. Is that a compliment?)

Hi MG, are you sure she didn't say Iraq?

Congratulations. I was paddling down the Delaware on Saturday. Otherwise I would have been out there with you.

As long as she doesn't say it while she is massaging you, 'you rock!' is definitely a compliment.
You rock at racing too, good job!

It was truly disturbing that they let McDonalds sponsor the event. Goes against everything Fitness Magazine claims to be about. They truly sold their soul. The Fitness mag executive yelling out "We love McDonalds!" before the race made me want to puke.

The run was fun though. Great weather.

Welcome to Cool Running. At least the Corporate Sponsor was distributing fruit and iced coffee. Last year, a main sponsor was Lays Potato Chips, and they were handing out bags of them.

But yes, it was a beautiful day and there was much relaxation in the staging area.

Sounds like a pre-race massage improves your race time. Hmmm ....will have to consider that ...especially if Nikki is around! You forgot to tell us your time ...or did Nikki distract you? Continued good running.

Distracted, PJ? By a perfect woman who told me to lie down so she could work my muscles?

What’s so distracting about that?
