This soon to be 47yr old did the same race in 2:10:23. This was my furthest I have ever run. To be honest, since there were no timing chips and I did start back in the pack...my forerunner came up with a 8:14 pace. It felt like that too!

My sentiments exactly. 25 bucks and no chip????
Wish I had known you were going to be there. I would have liked to have met another runner from the web. Then again, it is obvious I would have ate your dust!!
Did your boys run too?

I agree about the no chip. It would seem to be a lot easier for them to put on a race of that size if they had chips. I imagine it must be a nightmare to deal with 1000 little tear off sheets to get everyone's time. Also they would have had an accurate half marathon split for everyone.
And there were an awful lot of people on a narrow road for the start. How long did it take for everyone to cross the line? This was probably the reason I was up too far and was next to hermosaboy at the start.

No, the boys aren't ready for that distance. Besides KeeMan is in XC season and CamScam is in football...

Took me close to a minute to shuffle up to the start line and then about 30 more yds after that until i was able to 'jog'....pretty sad. Very narrow road and starting area.

We totally forgot to bring the camera! I did check the photos on the MDRA website and I see that you can see me in my bright yellow shorts and white shirt in the 2nd/3rd photo and the 3rd/4th photo.

WTG, HB! Consistent splits. Hardware in a large, tough field. Just a blur. But of course we've come to expect nothing less. I hope Des Moines treats you well.
