I agree with Dark Horse's earlier post and would like to apologize for Millbot's earlier comments in which he stated that Rich's moving of the posts to other places was "heavy handed." Spareribs

Wow, I totally can't tell who is being serious here and who isn't.yet another reason why I have never been able to sync with the boomers. You folks like to carp on the clubhouse (and kick's post race tent) because that group is "mean" or whatever... but I have to say, this group has its own level of in-group humor, language, and meanness too. I don't know what to think about this thread. As for the moving of threads over there, it is his site. Calling him a "nazi" for it is ridiculous. I miss many race reports by my boomer friends because you choose to completely insulate yourself from everyone, and I never remember to come check the whole OTHER section of reports here in boomers... and when I do, they sometimes don't make sense to me anyway. So, sure, you get read by your "peeps" here in Boomers, but you are missing out on a whole other segment of potential readers who might be interested in your stories. It's a real shame that someone is targeting kick. It's not like they are deep, dark hackers. They are people, most likely kids, screwing around with automated scripts. They probably couldn't even explain what they are doing. Rich pays for kick out of his own pocket. He was just trying to set up something nice... which, as it scales, something which continues to make sense (hence the periodic housecleaning of threads... you may disagree with it, but it wasn't done with malice). Again: Rich pays for kick out of his own pocket. Some of the folks in this thread are incredibly disappointing. You are not 15. [This message has been edited by srlopez (edited Sep-10-2007).]

Me too! Me too! I love Millbot in a confused state! (Where is that state? Somewhere between CA and NY?) Humor. It's so funny. I signed up for the Kickrunners but haven't spent enough time there to get to know the rhythm. I appreciate Rich popping by here and telling it like it is, that took guts and character. Please pop by again and accept the olive branch. Oh, oops! Sorry Pro, this was about hacking, right? I don't know much about hacking. Unless it has to do with a cough due to cold. Then I would recommend a zinc product, like Cold-eeze™ And La T, about that baby and the bath water, good thought! edited because I really shouldn't say anything at all, I didn't read a lot of the original stuff. Hiya Lopez! I just wanted to add that I have never really posted a RR outside of this boomer group because I figured "why would someone who doesn't really know me or post regularly with me even care how I do in a race?" BUT, I did post my RR at Kick in its appropriate forum and was pleasantly surprised by comments left by peeps I didn't even know. So, I really do think that using the Finish Line forum as a place to post RR's with a sticky link (or whatever that's called) in the Master's forum, so our usual group of friends don't miss it, is something that will work well. I've even wandered into the PRT and found out that you all aren't so mean afterall  ------------------

Geez, I go on a little bike club weekend and all he^% breaks loose <waving to StevieRay> I am confused too. Hope we can all learn to play in the sandbox.As for the hacker script kiddie morons (I have other names for them I am using IRL) I hope they get "pwned" by someone else, namely an adult authority that has the ability to cut THEIR access off. And that the folks who wrote the forum software give Rich a fix AND a refund. Barb

Sorry, Rich. From what I can tell, you certainly didn’t deserve that insulting post. In fact, you deserve kudos for your valiant efforts to create a great non-commercial spot for runners. That has got to be an enormous amount of work. I’m sorry about the problems going on at the site and hope you’ll be able to overcome them soon.As you see from how this thread has evolved, this group has learned to brush off some unfortunate comments, often by making light of them. But the attack on you seems unfair and, since you're not here regularly, there’s no reason why you would know to simply brush it off. Rest assured, though, that’s not the norm here and people usually come to their senses. Hang in there. P.S. We have our quirks. Some people just can’t hack it and move on.

You are apologizing for something someone else said but you won't apologize for something far worse that YOU said? If you said those things in your earlier post then you were out of line. You know nothing about the Rich or what he has tried to create, yet you appear to have a pretty strong opinion on it. It doesn't take much intelligence to open your mouth and bray like a donkey. Maybe you should apologize for your own words and let Millbot or anyone else take care of themselves.

WTG Cigra! Now look what ya done.A bunch of nomads looking fo a place to camp where they can do what thay always did encounter something different. Someone saying do it THIS way. These old timers are just so used to the same ol same ol so there was some automatic defensive reaction (knee jerk type). There are different ways to bring things to the surface and sometimes they get carried away. Everybody's sorry so let's move on. I think some points (Boomer needs) have been voiced. Now lets work on solutions. (oh yea.. hackers are bad!) After all if the CR B&B ship sinks, to where are we going to swim?

If it is a joke, I hope it was understood by the tightly knit community, because some of us lurkers are totally As I too am not 15, what I am hoping this means is that he followed up privately with rich. rich wants to give people a great place, but he does NOT deserve sh2t like that. And he's been working his ass off trying to get things right. What started as a thread about a big problem got sent off the rails by something which is a discussable issue but seemingly an order of magnitude LESS of a big deal. "nazi". holy crow, guys.
