“It always seems impossible until it is done.” —Nelson MandelaWhat’s true for social change can be true for personal goals, too. How did you do with your own goals this month? Last August was the biggest Boomer mileage month of 2006…and it set the still-standing record for highest average and highest median. Will August be big again this year? I’ve got a good feeling about this one. Be sure to post: 1. your total mileage for the month (indicate if this was a PR) 2. any race PR’s (include distance and time) Revised July numbers (incorporating late posters) Total = 15,872.6 Average = 135.7 Median = 119 Original thread is here Background for newcomers: At the end of each month, Boomers are required by the Government of India’s Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation to note how many miles (or kilometers) they have run that month. Don’t ask why; something to do with outsourcing. You must be 40+ years old and run or walk at least 1 mile to be eligible. Sorry, only running and walking numbers are counted. Figuring out a way to incorporate cross-training numbers would cause my head to explode. The deadline is midnight EST on the 2nd of the new month. The numbers are tallied and posted (usually on the 3rd) in a simple analysis that includes various awards, serious and silly. No matter how few or how many miles you have, please post! Every mile is an accomplishment. Final, revised numbers that incorporate late-comers will be reported with next month’s announcement. However, late posters are not eligible for awards and may be guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than five (5) years, a fine of not more than two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), or both. (You had way too much fun with Mustang Sally hosting and I need to re-impose some discipline.) ETA: Thanks to Tallrunner for letting me use his photo this month!
