Beautifully written and beautifully run.

mc you are a gift to the running community. Especially your practice of encouragement and reflections on this race.

“i tried to say something to everyone that i passed, although in the last miles of each leg i couldn't talk much, so maybe i only encouraged half the people that i encountered.”

“team relays aren't just about the running, they're about the friendship, struggle, adventure, and fun.”

What a great adventure you had with the boomers and others on your team. The whole relay sounds a bit tough but so much fun and cameraderie. Congratulations to all of you.

MC,
Fantastic RR and pictures. Not much body fat on that group. Glad you had such a good time on the course (and in the van )

MC. thanks for sharing the experience. It looks complicated and challenging and extremely fun with lots of boomer bonding! What a team! Congratulations to you all. Now we need a quick summary of who ran which legs drawn on a map

i had a great time ridin around with you mc, thanks for cancelling out my 8:30mm's with your 6's, so the team average didn't suffer too much.

maybe next time there 'll be a solarmix2 on board

That has to be one of the best race reports I've ever read! And definitely one of the most fun! I'll have to echo those who've said...someday I want to do a relay!

Three passes and a breakthrough run. Gotta love it.

You blasted through that second leg, mc. Too bad we saw just a smidgeon of it. Maybe you should seek out 4 a.m. 10Ks.

Oh ... didn't we call them "gonch"? Great time to catch me in ultrasilly mode, just finishing leg 1. Yowza. What fun.

HTC gets under your skin, doesn't it? Now I see why they call you MC--- you really gave a great report here and I'm so glad you had a wonderful inaugural relay---you had the total experience: the running, the comraderie, the pitch black runs at 4 a.m., the barfing neighbors, the FUN! I am so bummed to have missed meeting up with your vanclan---next year for sure! glidegal

once again, not quite sure what to say...

um, nice report?

didn't get as much of a chance to talk to you as others over the weekend...

you certainly ran your heart out, mc, and I enjoyed watching you enjoying it, too.
