Not sure that I understand - this is a new design? that will be part of active.com? More importantly, are we required to set up a new account? Because I really want to stay La Tortuga ...oops sounded a bit like a chihuhua for a moment.[This message has been edited by La Tortuga (edited Aug-14-2007).]

Looks a little scary. Maybe too early to tell. I tried search and read comments on search. Not too great as the site is huge and the search 1) returns lots of pages 2) can only limit to "community", all the msg boards. On the other hand. CR has NO search. -cAig

I thought it was just the running log that was moving?? The thought of having to learn a new board is just a bit intimidating. On the other hand , I suppose I could get a new kewller handle on the move.??I hate change

It might be wise for one or two computer and internet gurus to explore this and report back to the rest of us just how to proceed. It would appear that we may want to make sure we have secured more than just the running log for this upcoming change. Names and addresses of all of us on this present site will be important to see that everyone makes the transition over......assuming the old system is going to be "lost" or "taken away". With this in mind, do you have someone in the Boomer and Beyond family who has your address, email, and information that is a "regular"? We don't want to lose you. So be sure that someone has your information. ------------------ vista129

How did DaveinAA manage to post on one of the boards? It looks like it takes a special "beta" login ID to do it.But for what it's worth, I always thought that the forum software on this site was a bit behind the times in various features. The new site should be an improvement, but will take some getting used to. One feature I'd like to see is "avatar" photos, where you can upload a small picture of yourself or other graphic to help lend some personality to your posts. I think that every other forum that I belong to has this feature. ------------------ - Runnin' in Rochester Rochrunner

I just clicked on the "create account" button, and when the process was complete, went to the B&B link above. Had to beat the rush... I also created accounts for "rochrunner", "Spareribs", and "TheProFromDover", among others, which I will lease out at reasonable rates. earthrunner is still up for grabs, however.

Figuring that someone might try to steal my much wanted nickname I created an account early this morning. However I can't validate it because I can't check home email from here so will have to wait till tonight. So whoever wanted to be me is foiled That said I am not a fan of Active's site or log. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I am with whoever says they don't like change. Maybe we can get Kickrunners to create a Boomers forum if this goes to a place we don't like. Barb

If we do, we should get them to call it Masters Runners or something, hally. You know how worked up some of these 40 somethings get (*cough*Econo*cough*) at the title Boomers.

I created an account and posted to Dave's test post. Seemed to work okay but golly it was slow maneuvering around. Click and wait... click and wait...Or is it just me?

I went over there and created an account. My name was already taken! Ick. Although I would like something kewler, too many changes at once isn't good. So now I'm Monday Monday but I'll still be just Monday.

Hooray! Now we can get rid of that stupidly inaccurate name, "Boomers & Beyond"....oh, wait...they still have the same name for the forum on the new version. sigh.

I'm not wild about the new site - but I did register. The site is strange and it feels like we'll all end up going our separate ways.

Although not perfect, I think that CoolRunning has done a nice job. The price is hard to beat too.I've enjoyed my stay here and think I will remain loyal.

Grrrrr. I registered under my name, got the confirmation e-mail, activated my account, logged-in and....nothing. Everytime I go to reply to Dave's thread it kicks me out and asks me to log in again...and again...and again. Go on without me. It appears I'm going down with the ship.

Unfortunately, this reminds me of the time when my favorite health club closed. We had a really great group of guys who would run and chat with each other on a regular basis. When it closed, though, everyone had different ideas about where to go from there depending on what was closer to home or work and all that, and that was pretty much the end of that group. Some of them I never saw again. I just hope that this doesn't scatter our community beyond recovery. ------------------ - Runnin' in Rochester Rochrunner

React first, think later, I say. Looks like further research needed on my part. Thanks for the heads up.
