Econo, great job on both races. That 10k sounds tough even without the walkers. Congrats on the course PR and wtg on those chute jumpers.A half mile is a long ways out there in the open water. I think you are simply supposed to survive the swim and save as much energy for the bike and run. It looks like you did just that running at very quick 5k (top half overall)! Well done! Mark

Oh boy, I can smell that Bag Balm now but I thought it was for nursing mothers with sore nipples... At least that's what I used it for.. But I digress////////
NICE job, Econo! You really bit off a chunk of racing and did quite well in both events. You seem to be in excellent condition these days. Look out Missoula!

Econo, I am SO impressed that you did both these events virtually back-to-back. I don't think I could run for a week after B2B, let alone complete a triathlon. You definitely are a ruff, tuff trigrrl!I can see you resemble Boudica in appearence, but I hope that's the only similarity. The Romans were not very kind; hers was a tragic fate. Btw, I swam 1/4 mile last Friday. It was slow (heads-up breast stroke since I had my contacts in), and it killed my arms. But I did it. I am pretty sure I never would have thought about trying that if it wasn't for you. [This message has been edited by Labduck (edited Jul-08-2007).]

Nice double, Econo! Elbows on the course + wrestling moves in the chute = a course PR in the heat! Then a dreadful swim + hilly (but upright) cycling + strong 5K = a solid finish! A fine adventure.

Do the tri participants tend to mock swimmers who resort to floating on their back and dog paddling? I"d give those things a try but finishing last is bad enough without the pointing and laughing. Nice racing in both events. As everyone has pointed out, you are really improving in all areas.

You rock, trigirl! You are tough and keep getting tougher. What exercises do you recommend for voluptuous calves and yankles? --Choove, you didn't have to use the cow cream for nipple irritation. They do make special creams for mommy mammaries

Awesome job on both of the races, 'cono! You are getting better and better at this! But for heaven's sake, what is this voluptuousness you're talking about? I did not see that when we met, you slender grrl, you . Keep on rockin'! j

Econo – Great job on both races and congratulations on the course PR in the 10K! (Didn’t realize it was going to be an obstacle course, though, did you?) Your triathlons just amaze me – what a workout!------------------ Holly

[QUOTE]Originally posted by Econo: I was 226th out of 233. Any way you calculate... that's bad! Econotri-iffic - thank you for your double rr's and such outstanding results in (1) the Mountain-to-Mountain (I saw it when I was in Eugene and it's no mere B2B plus gun times are irrelevant in rankings on such a race) and (2) the popular Hagg Lake Triathlon (as a key race in the TRI NorthWest Rankings, lots of Seattle triathletes are included in the fastest go down there every year - you're doing enough races probably to be ranked in your inaugural year too). With regard to your "bad" swim, any swim is a good swim and I'd have been vying with Karl to be #233 to go along with my many triathlon swim DGL's so can only hope you can get Tacoma Sis to find you one of the many nice warm, non-wetsuit tri's a little further up in the PNW as the season progresses so I can get a picture with you in your TYR navy trisuit, . . . I mean get to do a tri with you before you decide to commit to a swimming program too and we lose you to the tri-board.

Renee,You rock. It's so impressive that you just keep getting stronger and faster in all 3 areas. MC is actually going to be too busy on Kitt's Peak to help you with your wet suit. I unselfishly volunteer for the job. See you at the lake / pool / ocean. Tom

Yay, Econo! Congrats on the 10k PR and excellent triathlon. Oh and nicely done, keeping that woman in line at the finish ...like Spareribs, was happy to read you're now focusing on adults. You use your new wetsuit? I can relate to your comments about the bike -- that's me, too. Need some work on smooth shifting. I know I lose speed and time playing too much with the gears. A cycling class (they exist?) might be worth our time, you think?

You are one amazing athlete, dearest sistahh Econo, with humidity induced curls . Didn't you said that you just started learning to swim not too long ago and now you can already swim half a mile? Wow, you are one fast learner. Now I definitely want to be like you when I grow up.
