Great race, Holly! It's been fun watching a newcomer to running progress as fast as you have. Keep on going! You have many more PRs in the future. Congrats to your son also! Not to hard to tell how happy he is. He has a good mentor! PJ

Holly, great race, great race report and great photo! I couldn't agree more with what Spare RIbs says. In your next 5K or 10K road race take a look at the runners, you can pick out the really fast ones. Then line up near the front of the pack 2 or three rows back in the smaller ones you won't have to worry about them because they'll leave you plenty of room quite quickly to get into your pace. With your 7:00 minute paces you deserve to be nearer to the front of the pack so that you can get a true and accurate time for your race. I wouldn't be surprised at all to be reading about you placing in your AG quite soon.Conratulations again and savor this one with your son, great looking boy by the way. ------------------ My User Profile "Keep on Running" Bob

Ummmm, ahem. That picture is after the race? Darn you, Holly, for looking so fresh. Am I the only one who's going to be a bit tuff on you and tell you that you obviously did not work hard enough. My, but how you fly! Such improvement over such a short time. Your training is so consistent and look how it's paying off. No wonder your DS is so proud of mom! Great pic. Lots of lovely trees in the background and I'm so envious of such a nice track!

Holly what an awesome mother, women, runner you are. You are one poster child for this forum. Your dedication to your training program is something I can only admire and hope to emulate someday. Wow, you are one example of how perseverance really pays off. Congratulations. And a big hug to that boy of yours. He is adorable.

Erika - I uploaded the photo to flickr.com, and the first time I posted, the size was too big. Actually, it looked fine on my home computer, which is set at a higher resolution, but when I opened it at work it was too big, so I went back to flickr and fussed with size options, then copied and pasted the new properties into the thread.

Holly, great job on the PR. It sounds like you did go out a little slow. I'm guessing that breaking 23 is within your grasp and if you focused on 5k training, a sub-22 could be had. Your excellent training is paying off. You deserve to be proud.
