What a great report!!! I love the back and forth. Somehow I had Olivia Newton-John as Choovie and John Travolta as MrChoover.

Sounds lie a well run race with a very attentive RD. Congrats on your time!

Great report, nice pictures!! I've been to the Black Hills half a dozen times, but not to Deadwood since the casinos came in. I hear it's changed a lot. The Black Hills are beautiful. I've never done the race, but now you've got me interested....maybe next year.

What a great report, choover, not to mention the results for both of you! This indeed should go into the RR Hall of Fame.

The Black Hills is one place on my list where my DW and I have to go someday. I first visited there in 1976 when Deadwood was a really sleepy little town with a few tourist traps. I was a bit disappointed when I returned a few years later and it had become a casino destination.

Now that trail makes me want to take our bicycles along when we get out that way.

Congratulations to both of you. It seems to me that if MrChoovie already has his own Garmin (unless I misinterpreted something), he has to keep running to justify his investment. Watch out, though, he could be catching you soon. We'll look forward to many more his/her reports.

Choovie, what a beautiful report! It is one of my favorites. You two have worked together and supported one another. What a fine example you set for couples everywhere. I enjoyed the part too where you refrained from carrying around extra "Deadwood weight", and we sure don't want to give one of our mentors a heart attack. Did you decide for sure that the change in altitude caused the light-headedness? Thanks for posting the pictures. I would have thought, tho, that Sal's place specialized more in liquid refreshment than burgers ... cj

Choovie, are you aware that you are a TRIPLE winner this week (hint: see Tramps' tally)?

Well done to you (with a PR!) and Mr. Choov. Sounds like a great race. Really enjoyed this RR.

Oooh, you didn't have cake at Mustang Sally's? It's the best.

great job choover and mr. choover! it's tough to think at those kinds of altitude, nevermind run a half-marathon... you'll both be dangerous if you try something at sea level!

What a nice his n her's report. Well done to both of you on this trail HM. I think they're harder than road HM's but usually more scenic. Good job done!
