I enjoyed reading your report of your race and the exploits of the PBJ family. I can't grasp running a marathon that fast, let alone with the problems you faced. Congratulations.TomS ------------------ My Profile

I'm chuckling to myself as I recall my response to Howard's RR where I acknowledged all the fine people he met up with and forgot you! Sorry Joe.You know of course that despite your fine shape right now, this would be wishful thinking for a great race, simply because of the heel injury, and I was reading of your progress, or lack of it, in the daily, but like all of us, you keep your fingers crossed that you will be 100% by race day. I think you ran this for precisely the reason that your wonderful report showed: a great road trip for the PBJ family and a chance to be with some cool people. That's a pretty good reason to take a trip. I hope you do the right things now. Get healed (no pun), then go get it in the fall. Wonderful report. Wish I had been there. Spareribs

Oh, those PBJsters. I'd be right with 'em with the beads and inflatable clappers, causing havoc in the car. Cotton socks? Oh, the heels and other bits must be a bit ticked with you. Hmm, a year with sore heels is a concern. Hope you're getting some treatment. I'm using the gel-type heel inserts, still massaging every morning, ibu diet. You know the drill. Calf stretches. Still, an impressive result. We'd rather have you as the poster fairy (I still covet your wings), so please heal and go get 'em in the fall.

I like Keeman's sense of humor. Great report as usual... It's hard to believe people are running marathons so soon after Boston but I guess that just confirms some of you are nuts. Seems like you had a very nice weekend with your charming family. A hearty congrats on your fast time despite the heal problems. I hope you can begin feeling 100% very soon with some appropriate rest time.

Opps -- posted under the kid's member name again. BTW -- PBJ is ALL OVER my Boston DVD. Everytime I look up, there's a jester running across the screen!

Way to finish VCM! I can't imagine getting your time with walking, let alone turning around towards the start! Sounds like a great weekend. Now rest up and get those heels ready for Hartford. Hartford Course : "There has also been a complete revision of miles 20-26, where runners will now head north in Hartford to a riverfront trail. Upon exiting this trail, runners will head towards Bushnell Park through the magnificent Memorial Arch for the finish line." No more hill going into W. Hartford! Great RR too!

Always love PBJ's RRs cuz they remind me of National Lampoon's Vacation movies... Thanks for the delightful read and tour of Ben & Jerry's flavor samples! Amazing time for someone with sore heels and a penchant for walking backwards... I agree with Econo... hold onto your banana next time.[ETA... won't you pay later for that "head Helga" comment?] ------------------ evanflein [This message has been edited by evanflein (edited May-30-2007).]

What a great race and time! However, I was always under the impression that one would get "fined" for wearing cotton socks? Great race report too! Think I'm ready for some ice cream. PJ

excellent race and report!I think I was at about mile 21-22 when it started to really pour. Explains why all the Munchkins were damp when I got to the food tent. julie http://interwovendesign.com/kick/userdisplay.php3?username=chasing3

Joe - It was an absolute delight to meet you and your lovely family. You are truly blessed to have them. Get those heels healed OK. We both know that had you been healthy, you would have smoked me at VCM. I'll see you in Boston if not sooner.Skip

I want to join the PBJ family cheering section that eats waffles while Dad is running.Another great run there, and your opportuntity to make this family trip such a wonderful time is great. Isn't Vermont just a neat place to visit with a family? I used to pass White River Junction all the time and used it as a "pit stop" for my trips through there. Hope the heel problem gets better. You still had a great race and I appreciate the fun report. Congratulations ------------------ vista129
